Well yeah of course, but they'll also need to add some guys to the 40 man to protect them from the Rule 5, so they aren't going to be operating with seven open spots for the majority of the offseason.
I think Conforto may end up accepting the QO, but he may very well want to get away from the Mets too as the continuously spin their tires in the mud in the East. After a horrendous start that saw him get hurt, he turned it around offensively in the second part of 2021. Teams may view his poor start to 2021 as an outlier and not necessarily the player he is (or will be) moving forward.
This is the big thing for me. While his bat would obviously be welcomed in the lineup (handedness be damned), we all know that improving the defense is important too, and Castellanos is not going to help out in that regard one bit.
I think they'll go cheaper as well, I just thought he would've been be a good backup C for the Sox, and someone who wouldn't crush you if he had to start for an extended period of time. Oh well, on to the next one.
Well looking at OAA and DRS, Soler had a -6 OAA and was -12 in DRS this season in 752 innings. Eloy had a 2 OAA and 0 DRS in 304 innings. Eloy showed improvement post injury, while Soler has never been a good OFer at any point.
