  1. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:41 PM) When does the next series start? Friday? Saturday
  2. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:22 PM) I believe they are over achieving this season. They are, but that doesn't mean they can't win it. The Giants overachieved plenty over the last 5 seasons.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:19 PM) Yep, most of my department is cubs fans but they're just happy their team is winning, not interested in rubbing it in. Plus I got out early today because they were all leaving to watch the game. Definitely the silver lining to this.
  4. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:20 PM) So which team stands a better chance against the cubs? The Dodgers were 4-3 against the cubs and the Mets were 0-7 against the cubs in the regular season. The Mets haven't faced the cubs since early July and have since added Cespedes. This is a tough one. Mets have the deeper rotation than the Dodgers and were 3rd in the MLB in runs scored after the ASB, Dodgers were 28th in runs scored over that time. The regular season record means nothing, especially considering both the Cubs and Mets are completely different teams since the last time they faced each other.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:08 PM) Besides Girl Meets World Is that a spinoff of Boy Meets World?
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:02 PM) Oh my goodness gracious. I had 2017 as the year the Cubs began their reign. It's happening now. RIP White Sox, Bears, Bulls, etc. Classic J4L post. Over half the teams in baseball could have beat this current Cardinals team in a playoff series, including the White Sox.
  7. And people thought it was "unfair" the Cubs had to face the Cardinals in the NLDS.
  8. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:47 PM) I'd take the Astros, Royals, or Jays over the Cubs. I wouldn't take the Royals, they have suspect pitching.
  9. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:41 PM) For our organization, he was a Top 10. They probably thought they knew better than everyone else. Or it was just a trade that didn't work out. I know the "30-30" thing is quoted here often, but did anyone other than Hawk actually say that?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:38 PM) Was he even top 50 prospect Top 100, but never top 50 I believe
  11. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:33 PM) What's wrong with Matt Harvey, by the way? Innings limit
  12. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:31 PM) By White Sox standards, absolutely. Maybe by Hawk, but he does that with everyone, otherwise no.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:27 PM) Was he really that highly touted? No.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:24 PM) I'm fairly certain the Sox would make that trade (or at least think long about it). Rodon is great and all but Schwarber fills a major position need / void on the club. Doubt it, and Schwarber would be our DH. You don't trade a potential ace for a DH.
  15. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:18 PM) It's not the Cubs, it's the fact that he can hit, and only Abreu can hit for the Sox. Eaton? Also we were completely dreadful against LHP on offense this year, Schwarber would only exasperate that problem.
  16. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:14 PM) The White Sox would do it immediately. They absolutely would not, that trade is a win for the Cubs.
  17. At least from a baseball perspective, a Mets/Dodgers vs. Cubs in the NLCS would be a lot more entertaining to watch than this banged up Cardinals team.
  18. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:06 PM) I wonder if the Cubs would take Rodon for Schwarber? Rodon was still the right pick.
  19. Honestly think the White Sox would beat this Cardinals team in 4.
  20. Rodney can't find the plate at all and you swing at that junk Holliday?
