  1. This is so much more fun than the first few months of the year.
  2. Porcello throwing meatballs up there. We better score 5+
  3. Sanchez Eaton and Melky are all on fire right now. Abreu too.
  4. Porcello has actually been decent over his last three starts, hope we can get to him.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 03:22 PM) I think that is one of the greatest things about it. It puts a lot more value in winning your division. Completely agree, I love the second wildcard largely for this reason.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) 4 years of kemp's decline? No thanks. +1
  7. If you're going to put LaRoche back in the lineup, please don't put him back-to-back with Avi. That has been killing us.
  8. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) I'd keep Anderson if at all possible. I think he's going be a very good player. Maybe get them to take Micah instead. Not happening if you want Longoria.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) So are we happy that Verlander's actually starting to pitch as well as he has in the last two years? That start might have been enough to give them confidence that Verlander and Price can hold them in it...it's three consecutive pretty good starts, the velocity's a lot better, the curveball wasn't as strong but that's always a feel pitch and will return eventually as long as he's got the crispness on his hard stuff. Their other three starters are still hot garbage though, I'd be very happy if Detroit doesn't sell, I'm not worried about them at all and I'd rather they didn't get good young players for Soria/Price/Cespedes.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:17 PM) I can't believe they're going to start paying Porcello 15+ mil a year starting next year lolol Worse, it's actually 20+ million
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:08 PM) Quintana Anderson Montas and something else for Longo and pitching prospect. Boom Profit! In the Fangraphs trade value column they had Quintana at #41 and Longoria just outside the top 50. The price you're paying is steep.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:05 PM) Rodon? Not sure if Fulmer + Anderson + Montas does it. Yeah I would guess Rodon or Quintana.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) These next two games will decide the fate of the season, good thing we have our two best starters going in them. Wade Miley was actually the Red Sox's best healthy starter...it's no wonder why they've been awful, all their starting pitchers have ERAs north of 5. So happy we don't have to face Buchholz.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Rumor is Cubs want Ross and Kimbrel for a Baez-led package Baez, Torres, McKinney?
  15. So a good trade for us is a shortstop who can't hit or defend and is tied for last in WAR this year and a DH. Awesome.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) Crap defense, not a good baserunner, doesn't walk, has only a little bit of pop. He's one of those guys who has very few methods of being successful: has to just hit for a really high average because the rest of his game doesn't add value. If he were a right fielder, he'd be Avi Garcia. He's not a right fielder, so he has more value, but it's the same thing. Spot-on comparison, considering they're both tied for last in WAR across baseball this season.
  17. QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) On one hand you have Melky bouncing back, on the other Adam Dunn. You mean 2012 All-Star Adam Dunn?
  18. Like 6 weeks ago or so LaRoche had a .770 OPS for the season, he's been brutal since then.
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:19 PM) Montas,Danks and a filler? I dont see why they would. Especially with speculation on where Montas is going to end up. Montas is ranked just slightly lower than Hoffman on the MLB top 100 prospect list and Cargo is far less valuable than Tulo.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 12:22 PM) That said, under no scenario, could our farm system be rated as anything other then middle of the pack to slightly worse then middle of the pack. Agreed but "middle of the pack to slightly worse than middle of the pack" is a far cry from "barren". We're not the freaking Tigers.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Jerry Crasnick ‏@jcrasnick 2m2 minutes ago A source said chances of Carlos Gonzalez being traded this week are "30-70.'' #Rockies need a better offer to take the plunge. That likely means in order to get him we'd have to trade a prospect I'd be unwilling to give up. Pass.
  22. I just don't understand why anyone would want Castro at this point. He's not coming particularly cheap, he's never been a good defender, and his OPS over the last three years is .665.
