  1. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 06:41 PM) Toronto scout has to be thinking "oh s***." Let's go Phillies.
  2. The only out so far was a bulls*** strike three call. This is awesome.
  3. f*** yes scoring runs in the first inning is fun!
  4. Remember when Melky had only 2 extra base hits for the longest time to start the year? Now he's getting them every game it seems like.
  5. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 06:31 PM) Eaton strike 3 call was 3 inches outside. Wow Yeah that wasn't even kind of close.
  6. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 03:31 PM) That's too much. Rockies don't need Micah. Their GM said today that no one is beating down their door for Cargo. I bet they would take just Adams for him. Tough call. It's not a tough call. Don't give up Adams, it's that simple.
  7. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) Zobrist isn't a rental What do you mean? He's a free agent after this season.
  8. Never thought I would ever post this a month ago, but I really wish Sanchez was in the lineup.
  9. No chance in hell the Dodgers give up both Seager and Urias in a deal that doesn't bring back Mike Trout.
  10. Just looked up Santiago's stats and he consistently outperforms his FIP. Is there an explanation there? I understand how Buehrle or Chris Young does it, but what's different about Santiago?
  11. I'm not familiar with the Royals' system. They just gave up 5 arms for Cueto and Zobrist. What kind of pitching do they have left on the farm?
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 01:22 PM) I f***ing hate Boston. No you can't have Chris Sale. Stop asking. It's a god damn broken record at this point. Good f***ing lord, let's sweep them.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 01:20 PM) One of Ethier / Crawford will be a White Sox. Who do we give up?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Jay Bruce for Montas, Avi Garcia and Andre Wheeler What's the story on Wheeler? I'd do this trade, I'm not sure the Reds do it though.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) His road OPS this year is .768. That is higher than everyone on the current White Sox other than Abreu and Eaton, and Eaton is at .769. That still isn't good enough to warrant giving up Adams.
  16. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:55 PM) How about this? Sox lose: Avi Quintana Micah Padres lose: Justin Upton Tyson Ross Blue Jays lose: Devon Travis Daniel Norris Aaron Sanchez Max Pentecost ______________ Sox gain: Pentecost (C of the future) Sanchez (fills in Quintana's slot and joins our plethora of young pitching talent) Upton (takes over in right) Padres gain: Norris (could slot in to Ross' slot and bring back some of the youth Preller pissed away) Travis (replacing pitiful Jed Gyorko) Avi (fresh start candidate and immediate fill-in for Upton) Jays gain: Quintana and Ross (massively improving their rotation) Micah (adequately replacing Travis in an already powerful offense) Quintana could be switched out for Shark, especially considering Upton is also a rental. And I suppose Norris and Sanchez could be interchangeable, though I prefer Sanchez. Thoughts? You're way undervaluing Quintana here, that's an awful return for him.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:56 PM) Does that not sound like Tulowitzki? Who they just received a first round draft pick for, among others, along with $50 million in salary relief? You think they are going to turn around and dump Cargo to us for nothing now? Tulowitzki's career road OPS is .817, which is still very very good out of the SS position. CarGo's career road OPS is .752, which is mediocre out of RF/LF. It's not really that comparable.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) Maybe you didn't just see the Tulo trade? What does that have to do with us and CarGo? His road numbers are uninspiring, he has a bad contract, and he has an injury history. Pass. I certainly wouldn't give up Adams for him.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:43 PM) Micah and Spencer, they pay $15 million. You can't be serious. I don't want to give up one good prospect for him, let alone two.
  20. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:11 AM) Well you were indeed correct raBBit. I however agree with Dick Allen's points and I was talking about similar things last week. When something goes wrong it's KW's fault. But when it goes right like in the winter meetings it's all Rick Hahn. We really should have almost zero faith in Rick Hahn right now. What he's produced in 3 years hasnt been good. You guys wonder why Kenny said he wanted to get more involved? That would be why. I think he's starting to lose faith. This year has certainly been a mess for the most part, but can you really blame Hahn for 2013/2014? When he took over we had the worst farm system in the game and very few assets on the major league team. You can't expect that to turn around in a such a short time.
  21. How much should we be concerned about Puig's drop in numbers this year? His OPS is only 0.14 points above Eaton's. I wouldn't want to trade Q for him if he's not going to at least be 0.820+
  22. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:05 AM) I reported something of the same in the last week without the deal contingencies. Hahn and KW have serious differences in the way they want to operate. The moves weren't all Hahn. The Samardzija trade was a long process that Hahn handled but KW loved Samardzija. I don't have the full picture, but I do know that the Melky Cabrera signing was 100% Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn did not want to spend that money on Melky. Interesting. I would love to know what Hahn's plan without KW would have been for this past offseason.
  23. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:29 AM) Here's the other point --if you believe they're in it, then Shark still should go to bolster the roster with an additional bat. Don't forget the misery and embarrassment of this offense because of one week. That's my concern, here. Shark shouldn't even be here now, let alone at the deadline. He wont be a part of our future past this season, and if forsaking him for an everyday offensive player meant risking the remainder of this season with Johnson id accept it. I'd trade Shark for an everyday offensive player who can play the rest of the season in a heartbeat, but that seems like an unrealistic return for a two-month rental. More likely is a couple prospects who might help in a year or two, and if we kick ass the next three games I might lean towards keeping Shark. I'd bring up Johnson regardless though to replace Danks, I just wish I had faith in the the front office to do a move like that.
  24. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:48 AM) Why base your whole course of action on a two-game stretch? That's 1.2% of the season. What if the Sox win the next two then lose the next four? What if they lose the next two then win the next four? The Sox have now played about 100 games this year. They should make good decisions/trades for both the short- and long-term health of the club regardless of a ridiculously small sample of two games. Because there's only a few more days to make the decision, and the long-term value of the comp pick vs. what we would get in a trade is unlikely to be a huge gap (unless someone gets desperate and overpays, then by all means make the deal). If we win the next two games we're right in the thick of things, especially if the Pirates beat the Twins both days as well.
  25. With the trade deadline Friday, I don't see why a decision has to be made on Samardzija tonight. If we lose the next two sell him off, if we win the next two only trade him if you get a great deal.
