  1. Yeah I believe the only homegrown innings by any pitcher drafted under Theo has been the 34.2 Innings thrown by Rob Zastryzny.
  2. Cubs clearly goofed not really signing anyone in the offseason but given Theo's track record with free agents not sure it would have helped anyway. It's his misses in free agency that have caused them to not have any more money left to spend to upgrade the roster.
  3. Quick look at Plate Discipline Metrics 2018 vs. 2019 from Pitch Info O-Swing% - 22.2% - 16.7% Z-Swing% - 62.0% - 69.2% Swing% - 41.1% - 42.0% O-Contact% - 45% - 57.1% Z-Contact% - 80.0% - 85.2% Contact% - 70.1% - 79.4% So he's actually only been swinging just a bit more overall, but he's way up in swinging at pitches in the strike zone. What's most comforting though is that his contact percentage is way way up. If he can keep an ~80% contact rate going forward then RIP rest of league.
  4. Not that this detracts from your point at all, but Gonzalez had a 96 wRC+ and Alonso had a 97 wRC+. Check mate!
  5. Cubs Red Sox and Yankees are a combined 4-13, I like this timeline.
  6. Boring answer, but it all depends on the offers.
  7. Ball 2 to Allen on GameDay was nearly in the center of the strike zone, cost Rodon a K.
  8. His velocity has never really recovered since his shoulder injury has it?
  9. Throwing 88-89 in the first inning again, Rodon really needs to change his pregame routine or something.
  10. Watching on GameDay, what happened with Leury?
  11. I understand his point but this is different. Sale has had lower velocity to start seasons before but that meant 93-94 not 88-89. His velocity hasn't just dropped it has cratered.
  12. My bad, I mixed up the Mariners and Marlins, guess my brain stopped reading after seeing the “MAR”, you’re right.
  13. Fangraphs has the Mariners at 65 wins even after starting 2-0 (Sox are at 71), just a couple wins ahead of Baltimore. Might seem a little pessimistic but they also play in a much tougher division than the White Sox.
  14. You're talking about 90 losses here but in your earlier post you said it was realistic to go 9-21 against a bunch of teams just as bad or worse than we are. If 9-21 against them is realistic then against the rest of the schedule you'd expect even worse than that. Which means you think it's realistic to expect this team to be worse than the 2003 Tigers.
  15. I thought I read somewhere that one of the reasons the Orioles haven't done much internationally is because they have moral/ethical concerns about it and believe it to be largely exploitation, but I can't find anything about that now though so maybe I'm misremembering.
  16. LOL how is 9-21 realistic? That's 52 win pace against a super soft schedule. Unless you think this team is potentially the worst of all time that's not realistic.
  17. Did you write a program that adds in the same line to every single one of your posts?
  18. Wait you don't think Beltre is great either? He's a slam dunk HOF. Who do you think is great?
  19. Wait you don't think Josh Donaldson is great? From 2013-2017 the only better player in all of baseball was Trout.
  20. If Stanton is only a good power hitter then who are the great power hitters? He's also had more than one great year.
