  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 09:24 AM) Definitely don't have time to go back through hundreds of posts to find it. Who was it and do you have a credible source or at least any reason for knowing? Reportedly it was Rollins.
  2. That was quite the choke job. Purdue had a 99.6% win probability at one point.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) Did you mean 2015? Yes, I see how my question was confusing, I meant what did they do differently in 2015 compared to 2014. But in-season adjustments work too.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) By the way, we are considering a Part 3 where we take reader/follower questions. So if you have questions that you want to ask a roundtable of FS writers, put them in here! Something more than what we think about Player X is preferred - a topic that will generate some differing viewpoints. Let's hear them. Which prospect made the biggest adjustment from 2014?
  5. Baylor looks bad. The Ivy League continues to be a tough out in the tournament.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) Herb LawrenceVerified account ‏@Ecnerwal23 8m8 minutes ago Imperial Beach, CA The Sox-LaRoche thing is a win-win for both parties. AL can go out as a martyr instead of a bum player. Sox get bad player/contact off books He's not really going out as a martyr. He's going out as a selfish d-bag.
  7. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) So it's not OK to criticize somebody for their unprofessional overuse of Twitter if they do nice things every so often? I didn't get the memo. I didn't read any of his tweets about this so I don't know. Was anything really that bad?
  8. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 02:02 PM) I go back to what I said yesterday. KW looks like a complete *** and is destroying this teams chemistry. I mean what other organization would let a VP destroy **** the way KW has done. The players apparently we're all opposed to KW, and Sale (your damn prized possession) was so furious with KW that he told him to get the **** out of the locker room and stat out. Sale is right, KW is the VP but thinks he is the Manger and the GM. Stay the **** out of the locker room cause all he has manged to do is **** things up year after year. He might have even cost the sox a future with sale as thir ace. KW has to ******* go and now!!! Rant over. Not an overreaction at all. Nope.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) If this bothers Sale and Eaton (only 2 that we've heard/know that publicly complained), then they are soft and not focused on the real picture. Completely agree.
  10. QUOTE (shysocks @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:33 PM) Consistent with my amusingly-timed rant earlier this week about chemistry, I think it might but it could be good or bad. I mean again, we've all seen Major League and what happens when the players hate upper management. I just think this thing will blow over by the time the season begins. And Sale has always hated Kenny, so this incident changes nothing there.
  11. Am I the only one who thinks this won't impact their play on the field?
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:23 PM) I still think they could have said deal with it for 2 more weeks. This way worked out in the Sox favor though. I don't think it will hurt recruiting free agents. If it is important for a future free agent they really want to have their kid there all the time, they will agree to it. I'd rather this come out now than right as the season started. Let it blow over before the results start to matter.
  13. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:05 PM) Has anyone credible confirmed KW guaranteed LaRoche's kid access 100% of the time? There is a big difference between telling someone the clubhouse is family friendly (which never changed) and guaranteeing 100% access every single day. Yes, I find it really hard to believe that any supposed handshake or verbal agreement specified that Drake was allowed 100% unrestricted access to the clubhouse. That is crazy.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 12:52 PM) Clearly LaRoche will argue they had a verbal agreement But a verbal agreement that specified he could be there 24/7, every day? That sounds absurd.
  15. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) I'm also legitimately concerned moving forward that this will hurt the Sox's FA pull. Can't imagine many players want to be a part of something like this. Why would this affect future FA signings? That sounds like quite the overreaction. Very few people are siding with LaRoche on this. It will be forgotten in a week.
  16. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 12:14 PM) So... Is there any sort of concern that this carries over into the season & comes a breaking point to a complete s*** show? I'm not concerned about that. It should blow over by the start of the season. These players are professionals, it'd be ridiculous if something this stupid continued to affect them once the season starts.
  17. QUOTE (Doc Edwards Shot @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) Yeah, they didn't. They tried and LaRoche rejected the offer and retired. I was mostly responding to the other poster who made it sound like the Sox should just unilaterally make a change to this "deal" without even talking to LaRoche. Perhaps I misunderstood him, but that's what I took away from his post. I'm not taking LaRoche's side in this 100% and condemning the Sox front office. The more I read about this, the more it sounds like it's coming straight from Kenny rather than any of the players in the clubhouse. The players apparently were on LaRoche's side so much that they were ready to boycott a game in solidarity with him. I never said they should make a change to the deal without talking to LaRoche. But they have every right to try and make changes to it if the new players had a problem with it. Kenny told LaRoche to tone it down, twice. LaRoche refused to back down. And frankly, even if such a deal was in place, I highly doubt they meant Drake could be around EVERY single day, 24/7.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 11:04 AM) Been watching First Take for about four years now and this is the absolute first time that anything White Sox related has been talked about on the show in that time. The Cubs are locked and loaded for a trip to the World Series. The White Sox? #drakegate So embarrassing. It's really not. Who gives a s*** about First Take?
  19. KU, OU, UVA, UNC. Boring, maybe, but I think third time's the charm for Virginia vs. MSU. UNC over KU in the final.
  20. I don't care if it was fine last year, or even if there was a handshake agreement when he signed. Things change. If Lawrie/Latos/Frazier/Avila/Navarro or whoever came in and had a problem with it, then they have a right to make changes to the arrangement.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:14 AM) The more I hear about this, the more it falls on KW for handling it badly. There are only a few ways this could have started... 1. Kenny did this fully on his own. That's bad - he really shouldn't be interfering in the clubhouse that way. Leave that to the manager, coaches and players. 2. A player (or players) went to KW about it. This is also bad in terms of what it says about Ventura and the players involved. But either way, even if this is what happened, KW's response should have been to go to Ventura, agree on a plan, and have Ventura handle it. Not KW. 3. A player went to Ventura, who escalated it to KW. Same as #2, Ventura should be the one to handle it. It's not about the decision - which was a reasonable and professional one. It is the way it was handled, which sounds like, badly by KW. I'm not really sure I agree that Ventura should have handled it. It sounds like some of the players are upset with KW over the decision, and I'd rather they were angry with Kenny than with Robin.
  22. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) Ha ha, good one! " win the whole f***ing' thing!" What is this a reference to?
  23. Hopefully March Madness kills this story and the players go back to just playing baseball.
  24. Even if there was a handshake agreement, if some of the new players had a problem with it I don't fault them for changing it. Either way I'm already beyond sick of this story. Just go away LaRoche.
  25. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 07:39 PM) Maybe we'll hear from Ventura on Friday about this. Hopefully the campaign of the players to convince him to come back will go nowhere. It's a s***ty story. Nobody looks good here at all. Still not sure why the Sox don't look good.
