I am a pessimistic poster, but I blame that on the fact that the White Sox organization has so many issues with it that its hard for me to feel hopeful. Have a good lineup? Give them a terrible hitting coach/hitting philosophy. Have a player get hurt? There is no depth in the minors to replace the loss. Enter a competitive window? Have a GM and owner refuse to upgrade the club over money and/or lack of scouting Chance to make the playoffs for the first time in 14 years? Hire an 80 year old with no idea how the modern game has changed. Have a great team? The other teams in the league are much more efficient and well rounded Have a plethora of analytical minded people to join the front office to improve every facet of the team? Hire a pitching coaches son to "head" the analytical department even though he has no experience in that field. All of the above is due to an owner that just refuses to sell or die.

I was surprised to see that pitchers have a 5.37 ERA when pitching to Grandal vs 3.60 ERA from last year. What changed here? No Rodon I guess? Thats a huge difference

Having 0 funds in our minors isnt helping either. Every team loses players to FA or injuries, but they have guys coming up that fill in nicely. Look at the Twins and Astros. See who replaced Correa, he has the best numbers in the league right now. With an above average farm we could have had 2 or 3 guys fill in on the cheap and make a big impact. Instead we send our future first baseman out to right field and hope he can catch the ball because theres no other option. All in all: Its not 1 thing, its multiple facets that all point to the FO.

They hired Duncan's son as head of analytics, a position he knew nothing about until the hiring. A buddy hire to quell the anger of the fanbase after seeing what the Indians, Rays, and less fortunate teams have been doing in their system. Hes working hard at it now, but has admitted he cant talk to TLR about anything analytics. Currently hes being tutored in statistics by a professor. Sounds silly doesnt it? Thats our organization. The FO is probably unaware of what you just wrote, and as long as they continue to fill Jerrys and their own pockets with money they dont care.

Take out his one bad appearance against the Rangers (5 earned runs) and hes having a good year, low 2 ERA

He just went away from his approach, which was a patient hitter ok with taking his walks. His swing% is about 10 to 15% higher this year. All this to say maybe his visions going, but like every hitter in this lineup hes chasing bad pitches.

JR doesnt care, hes a 90 year old money grubber. Its all he cares about and i wouldnt be surprised if he asks to be buried with it all.

I was one of those who hated the trade, i posted about it in the trade thread. I remember there being quite a few posters saying it was an overpay or felt off about it.

For this org to turn it around JR needs to croak or sell
