All we're short is a 4 starter, a 5 starter, a lefty specilist in the pen. An elite set up man. A lefty power hitter. A quality pinch hitter utility player. Power bat off the bench. And prospects that will net anything in a trade. other than that, we're good to go.

and once again we're trailing. taht didn't take long. 4 hits already in 1 2/3 inning.

THat's what I'm talking about with Abrue. 25% of season down and he's been well below par. Solo homers are swell but you gotta gotta GOTTA get the easy RBI and from time to time CLUTCH Rbi. Frazier has done it many more times than Jose this year. 3 pitch K? Really? Not even close to an all star this year. The league adjusted Jose. You need to adjust back. Get a grasp of the strike zone.

The poor play continues: Latos: The guy's a pumpkin. 4 duds in a row. This team is over dependent on Sale/Quintana winning every game at the moment. Defense: Announcers got on Melky for not throwing to 2nd, but if Frazier simply comes up with that throw, he's out. Frazier the next inning had one bounce off his glove. Not called an error but if he fields cleanly, he's out. And Rollins. Many have said he has no range and boy is that true. But he also never lays out for a ball. Afraid to get dirty? Keep it in the infield. And Lawrie has gone down batting and fielding. the bobbles. Offense: Another runner left at 3rd with one out. Abreu not showing much. AJax is a pitcher hitting. Starting to see a lot of holes exposed on this team.

And Abreu yes the solo HR but with runners on, he expands his strike zone and doesn't come through. That's gotta change.

We are officially slumping. DEFENSE: Saladino error, mental mistake. Jackson, 2nd dropped fly ball of year. PITCHIN: Albers is like a cat. If that cat was bad at pitching. Rodon: Still no command. Still can't tighten it up with runners on. Stop getting behind hitter. So we've lost 3 in a row heading into a Mat Latos start. I don't like it.

some thoughts. Jose: I've said it before, he remains BELOW average defensively. Two runners reached on him. The second one you can put on Lawrie. But the first failed scoop was typical and you gotta make it. Good first baseman do. All the more painful in that he's been less than himself on offense. Pen: Yeah we're gonna need an arm. At least one. We've had lead in almost every game last two series. Starters: Latos/Miggy. Might get one 5th starter out of those two but we have one spot that needs upgrade. Execution. While failing with 2nd and 3rd no outs today was rough. I forgive it cause of plays like the eaton squeeze. love it. but yeah that hurt to not score another there.

Is Sands faster than Abreu? Is Jimmy Rollins faster than Abreu? Man that was bad. Has Sanchez ever proven to be 1, a contact hitter. Or 2, a good hitter? No. Pinch run and bunt him over. Give Melky and Lawrie a shot at a simple base hit. But no.

Sanchez, on a good day, is a light hitter. Tying run at first and he's not bunting because why? Also why not pinch running for cement feet at first?

And as Avi and AJax stare at strike 3 we slowly fade out. On to NY with a day to rest the pen, Todd to heal and get back to playing the way we were before this series. Going in, I thought we'd win 1/3 but having blown leads three times in EACH of the past two games is brutal. That's gotta be rectified.

Desmond plays like he's mad at the Sox for not signing him. The pen has been atrocious this series. 3 leads blown yesterday and 3 so far today already.

Latos yikes. The walks. no Ks. And i don't think he topped 88mph on the fastball. And a bit like Freddy Garcia out there holding runners on. They abused him on the basepaths today. Remember Lawrie's patience at the plate from two weeks ago? What happened? Thank g-d Frazier is okay. That was scary.

I love how people are saying Rodon pitched well tonight. If we didn't have a lead when he left, NO ONE would think that. if he left down 6-2 he'd be enemy #1. 1 win 4.5 walks per nine 44 hits in 39 innings gets behind, loses focus, no command. needs to be better. much better.

One more thing: Can someone please tell Hawk how to turn his phone to vibrate or silence? How many times do we have to hear his text alert during a broadcast? This has been going on for a couple seasons. Never hear it during Beneti's so you know it's Hawk's. So annoying. And i'm a Hawk fan.

Gotta get some things off my chest from past couple nights. Carlos Rodon: Has been below par for some time now. Our 1-2 starters are awesome. Our 4-5 are giant questions. So 3 is the key. A 13-11 with continued improvement and 3.50 is what i expect from someone who has already shown he can do it and is supposed to be developing to be frontline starter. Tonight's outing was p** poor. While some turn it up with runners on, he gives hin. Command command command. REALLY hate tonight's loss considering Latos due for implosion against good pitcher tomorrow and now a very tired pen who cannot bail him out. Scott Carroll: It was the pitchers' mound, right, Scott? Rest: Have Frazier, Lawrie or Abreu had a single day off all year? That'll start to show at some point. Rollins: Can not bunt. 4 fouls yesterday including a K on bunts.

I know we can't win em all. I know. But Clay Bucholz shuts them down? I mean the O was a giant tird after the first inning And Rodon. I know he's young and we've seen good things. but COMMAND. Where does it go sometime? and the most troubling part is the next two pitchers are Latos and Johnson. we needed this one.

Well defense and Rodon losing focus cost the team. Two in a row. Counting on Latos to stop the skid. Eeks. Gotta at least split this weekend. Can't lose both. Rollins tripped over his own two feet yet still decided to release the throw. interesting choice. Also, dear Ajax, i know you hit some balls hard the first couple weeks but now you're like a pitcher batting so feel free to help your team on offense any of these days.

I don't know about resting everyone but Sanchez prob needs a start and Navarro needs a rest. And have Lawrie or Frazier sat at all? Not that I want to but maybe Saladino for one of them. Love the way they're playing. And love the gesturing to the dugout. They're having fun. Looks like a great mix.

Least exciting move ever? Webb to me is one of the faces of our struggles last couple years. Dude can't throw strikes consistently. he's done okay in minors but that was the case previous times as well. hope it's just a short term move. At least Kahnle's a fresh face.
