Moses was a major problem for them, but neither team was doing well financially at the time either. No doubt NY could support two teams, the market is much larger than Chicago. Three teams was probably a stretch, particularly sharing a market with the Yankees in the 1950's.
Just for additional insight, here's attendance from 1948-1957 for all three clubs (not refuting what you're saying; just thought it might be interesting to look at the trend):
Giants:
1948 1,459,269
1949 1,218,446
1950 1,008,878
1951 1,059,539 (Pennant)
1952 984,940
1953 811,518

1950 1,185,896
1951 1,282,628 (84 home games)
1952 1,088,704 (Pennant)
1953 1,163,419 (Pennant)
1954 1,020,531

Our players consistently give only 100%, which is inadequate when real competitors give 110%, maybe even 112%. That's literally like 10-12 more. You do the math YOAN

I hear what you're saying, but the Silver Slugger is just one per position. The Gold Glove is mostly defense and also just one. My point was I think there should be 3 All-Pro teams at the end of the season for each position like in the NBA and NFL. Just my opinion!
This already exists; it’s just that it only began in 2019, so it’s going to take several more years to gather status/renown:

Wonder if this is VV at his absolute best or if there’s more to this.
Technically, his best was back in his Phillies debut in 2016, when he struck out 16 and threw 97 MPH:

Regardless of who is the official beer sponsor, there are always one or two places in the stadium to find other labels. For instance, you could get Miller Lite last season, just not at every vendor. I'm sure Revolution will be available somewhere in the stadium, just not as many offerings and with the dedicated area.

That's because Apple.TV might as well be renamed "Ted Lasso and some other shows"
I heartily recommend For All Mankind; it's a good alternate-history romp through the Space Age.

Like insisting on a playoff game be played in pouring rain just to appease the TV folks. Phillies vs someone. Dodgers? It was a downpour for virtually the whole game.

I agree with him on the draft issue. And it's not just baseball, as we see it in other sports. A couple years ago there was that slogan 'Lose for Hughes' in the NHL, which was about teams jockeying for position to potentially draft Jack Hughes with the #1 overall pick.
The solution is so simple, randomize draft order among all teams that missed the playoffs. The best team to miss the playoffs would have the same odds as the worst team in the league. And not just for the top 2 or 3 picks, do it for all of them. The worst team could pick first, or they could pick 14th.
I saw a draft wheel concept somewhere (the old Grantland site, maybe?) which put all 30 teams in a shuffled order (1, 30, 16, 9… you get the idea) which was then followed to the next number in the sequence year-by-year regardless of your record; in other words, you get the #1 pick once every 30 years, and then you pick last the next year, and then you pick 16th the next year, etc., etc. Each team gets a top 5 pick every 6 years, 2 top 10 picks every 12 years, and so on.

There's a ripple effect beyond the games being played, whether it's selling tickets (difficult to do without a guarantee that there will be a season, or when it'll start), Spring Training locale gameday staffing, MLB stadium gameday staffing, marketing plans (you can't feature players in imagery without an agreement in place); etc. Uncertainty creates more uncertainty.

As someone who has worked at a business that involved sending lots of emails to large lists of people, I would like to mention some general caveats about the sending and receiving of emails:
-
Not every email sent out by "Company X" gets successfully delivered into a person's inbox
- Sometimes it gets filtered out by a user's ISP, even if earlier emails were successfully delivered
- Or it bounces as undeliverable, for whatever reason - if that occurs, this email address may be filtered out from receiving further emails from Company X, so that Company X doesn't get penalized for violating anti-spam laws.
- Or a Gmail user gets tired of seeing the emails show up in their inbox, and instead of setting up a filter/subfolder for them, hits "Report Spam" to send these emails to their Spam folder - this gets tracked as an "Unsubscribe", and the user is filtered out from receiving further emails
-
Even if it does get successfully delivered, not everyone sees it or opens it
-
Open rates for emails run between 10% - 60% of total emails delivered.
- Fewer still click on the emails once opened.

In short - if you haven't received something, and you're a Season Ticket Holder, reach out to your rep.

It’s always a useful thought exercise to ask oneself “how much would they have to pay me to do this job and put up with all of its b.s.?” and from there, the understanding of why no one’s interested in doing it at the offered wage.

How about: whenever a White Sox home run is hit into The Goose Island section, the goose head begins spouting out free draft beer? Fans crowd about the goose head in anticipation when a power hitter is up, cups at the ready; holding up signs saying “GOOSE ME”, etc.

Long COVID, perhaps. My wife got COVID last winter and post-recovery had a recurrence of symptoms every 10-14 days until she got vaccinated. Mercifully free of symptoms since then.

They're all in good shape to advance - the voting is in a two-phase format now; the first phase ends June 24.
If a player is in the top 3 (or top 9 for outfield), they advance to the final round of voting.

Luzinski did play the outfield and he was bad at it.
Yeah, agreed - Luzinski's dWAR during his Philly years: -1.2, -1.8, -0.5, -2.8, -2.3, -1.9, -0.8, -2.6, -1.8.

I also request fun/obnoxious arrivals to first base after any HBPs; moonwalks, slo-mo sprinting, Fargo/Flair strut, etc.
Alternately, they could over-sell every HBP like Bugs Bunny in the giant sandwich:

here is what the team should do in response - Everyone in the dugout and on the field just laugh hysterically.
In these situations, I want a team to proactively wear a temporary target patch (with "AIM HERE" lettering on it) on the side of their sleeve or jersey/pants as a passive-aggressive approach. Every HBP results in a team celebration from the dugout; it would drive the other side crazy within an inning.

Are you and others really taking his comment seriously? It was an obvious joke, and I'm assuming it was made to poke fun at the whiners/complainers.
Speaking only for my own reply, I thought initially it was serious because it matched the determined-to-be-unhappy tone that can be seen in others here.
I subsequently appreciate the boss-level sarcasm and have taken the lumps in stride. Learning experience!

Every team the Sox have beaten has a worse record than they do. I’m unimpressed.
As the Sox currently have the highest winning percentage in MLB, it would be quite impossible to have played someone with a better record than them.

Do the Sox compensate the fans for parking etc if this happens?
Yes; from the announcement:
”Season-ticket holders will receive a credit to their account for game tickets and parking for tonight’s game. Ticketmaster purchasers will receive a full refund for game tickets and parking through Ticketmaster.”

I have no dog in this fight, but of all US cities/metro areas without an MLB team, there are zero with a population greater than half of Chicago’s. (San Antonio has a city population a little over half, but its MSA is 1/4 the size)
