All I know is that the Cubs are living rent free in my head again this season...joking It is just too bad how weak the NL is. They have an easy path to the division crown. However, I think they can be beat in the playoffs. I know that some say that they have no weaknesses. However, I think they are built well to pound bad and mediocre teams. However, I really think that the Sox could defeat them in a seven game series. I really do. I am not yet sold on their #3-#5 SP's. And no matter what people say about their lineup, Fowler & Zobrist will have to slow down...and their ARE some low to mediocre batting averages in that lineup right now. I am not necessarily a big fan of Addison Russel's bat, or even Heyward's to be honest. I still can't believe they won game #1 against the Reds with only 2-3 hits. Once the Reds lost that game, you knew a sweep was coming. I am looking forward to them playing St. Louis, Pittsburgh, the Mets, San Fran, LA, Washington, etc. That will be a good test to see how they fare against some decent teams. Go White Sox!

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) They are going to just destroy the Reds and Brewers this year. If they play them 38 times or so, I expect something like 30-8 You got that right.

The Cubs may never lose again.

Why is this offense so bad year after year? -
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 10:23 PM) Might as well fast forward to the postseason with this Cubs team. Yep, even when they shouldn't win, they end up winning.

As usual, just gotta tip your cap to Graveman. -
After his crazy Drake LaRoche behavior, and his constant base running goofs, I am really starting to dislike Eaton. I am starting to understand why he was traded from AZ.
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 04:12 PM) If Drake was still with the team, he wouldn't have fallen. Unfortunately, he was a big leader in the clubhouse and the team won't be able to win without him. In other news, nobody under the age of 18 is permitted into the Cell this year. That's a lot of lost revenue.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) Do middle school students no longer take showers for gym class or for after-school sports activities? I don't see the big issue with a 14 year old (assuming he's an 8th or 9th grader)...it probably has more to do with LaRoche's overt Christianity and players self-censoring their comments around him, but obviously that happened for roughly 4 or 5 years without any problems in Washington and last year in Chicago. It is just seems very bizarre. And even if people don't think it is bizarre, I would find it hard to believe that every player on that roster would feel comfortable with it. LaRoche has no business putting any of his teammates in an uncomfortable position like that. He gone.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) I don't think an environment that includes naked men is a place most dads want to subject their 8 year old daughter. I don't think an environment that includes naked men is a place most dads want to subject their 14 year old son.

Adam Eaton to retire due to LaRoche situation. #FamilyFirst

When is Drake & Adam LaRoche bobblehead day at the Cell?

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) Bernstein and Spiegel basically just confirmed that a group of players led by Jimmy Rollins went to management. I understand Sale wanting to police their own room but they've done a poor job of doing that to this point and their manager doesn't do it. This is a case of new veteran players coming in and deciding that this had to stop. Yep, God forbid some of the players are trying to create a winning atmosphere...not a daycare.

Or, does he sit on twitter all day and talk trash? What an immature, overpaid idiot. Honestly, he needs to shut up and take care of business. Play ball, that is what he is paid to do. Send Eaton packing with LaRoche.

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 02:36 PM) Damn, there goes our chances at getting Harper for 400 million: Bryce Harper @Bharper3407 5m5 minutes ago Good for you Roche! Nothing like father and son in the clubhouse..It's a FAMILY game #FamilyFirst So, what is the next up and coming clause in a players contract? They are already massively overpaid, get ridiculous opt-outs, etc. Looks like it is time to include a clause in their contract that gives them the ability to bring their family and friends into the clubhouse at all times. It is absolutely ridiculous. This is not about #Family First; this is about being a responsible employee that is loyal to the employer overpaying you by $13M a year. And being a responsible employee is not bringing your kid to work. Being a responsible employee and parent is putting your kid in school. It is getting harder and harder to respect professional ballplayers, it really is.

Ian Desmond Signs 1 Year 8M Deal with Rangers

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Feb 28, 2016 -> 12:44 PM) This is more baffling. No sir. Other than pitchers, they don't know how to draft position players...period. Don't fool yourself, they don't. Thus, unless another pitcher miraculously falls into their lap with that pick, it is meaningless. Last time I checked, we seem pretty well set with pitching in the majors and in the farm. We need position players. Desmond would have helped us, no doubt about it. The fact of the matter is, this organization has absolutely no direction. It is very frustrating as a fan. -

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Feb 28, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) These sort of comments are baffling. It's clearly the draft pick, not the $8 million. What is baffling is actually thinking that the White Sox will pick anybody of any value with that draft pick. Especially that incompetent pack of clowns. Other than a pitcher, who is the last position player that we picked that was of any value to the organization? They acted as if they were going all in when they acquired Frazier and Lawrie. Then, they backed out and failed. The 2016 White Sox are partially in and will once again achieve the same results. -

Another one bites the dust. Cheap organization, man. Absolutely ridiculous. Go Avi... -
QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 10:33 PM) I've been pretty irrational through this process with Cespedes. Both raBBit & Y2Jimmy both know that. But, how can anyone be pissed at the Sox for how this all came together? Gordon wanted to go back to KC, same with Cespedes in NYM, & Upton didn't want to be here & got 6 years. What exactly was Hahn supposed to do? Let's cool off & think rationally before blurting out some insult at the Sox organization or Hahn in general. You hit the nail right on the head. There are still some pretty strong pieces out there that would make the White Sox a more well rounded and better overall team than "one" Cespedes could do. They just have to go get them...and they better do it next week before Soxfest
