  1. I have no problem with firing Grifol, but he only symbolizes the problems the team is having. This is not a Major League franchise.
  2. The problem is there is no power structure within the White Sox that can wrest control from Reinsdorf. No decent owner would stand by and watch this nonsense. But all JR cares about is a new stadium that probably won't happen. Security people can confiscate all the banners they want, but that won't change the way fans feel. There is no reason for any fan to go to that ballpark. This franchise has disintegrated. John Allyn did better. Bill Veeck did better. Major League Baseball should not stand by and do nothing. This situation is nothing but a joke.
  3. The starter goes down in the second inning, and a bad bullpen covers the rest of the game. This is not a major league lineup. I have never seen a White Sox team this bad. The whole organization is inept from top to bottom, and no one seems to care. Just ask Stone. He' s a legend.
  4. Some fans are cheering for the Sox to lose, because it will embarrass the organization. Truth is, nothing embarrasses this organization. Just ask Stone Poney.
  5. Time to move on. Get someone who no past connection to the organization.
  6. In the past two days, the White Sox starters threw 12 1/3 innings and gave up two runs. Yet the Sox lost both games.
  7. Maybe he is watching highlights of his 1980 season.
  8. Actually, it is a point for Scrhiffen if he has issues with the Chicago media. In the long run, it is more important for him to connect with the fans, not the media. I think he is trying but sometimes tries too hard. But he hasn't been in the job for very long.
  9. The team has to win for him to do that.
  10. This team isn't worth watching or getting pissed about. Can we stop that "stand up south side?"
  11. This past week, the Sox played six games and scores 12 runs. That says it all.
  12. The truth is, that unless the Sox get a dominating start from someone like Crochet, they don't have much of a chance. The offense just isn't there. Sick of seeing Eloy and his pop-ups. Watching a team struggle to get three runs is no fun.
  13. Used to be a big Vaughn fan, but he just isn't showing anything. Eloy cannot be here next year. He shouldn't hit high in the order, that's for sure. A DH who can't hit? The disappointment just continues.
  14. 7-6 would have looked like a lot better if they had started the season that way. Instead, they dug themselves into a big hole. Actually, I am optimistic. It was hard to believe they were that bad. But they have to do it for more than 13 games. If they can be respectable for the rest of the season, that will be fine with me. Just no 100 losses.
  15. The Sox have looked better this week, but this week they are 3-2. So, I won't get too excited. But it was good for a change to see the opposition make bonehead plays like Tampa. And the team has to start somewhere and the back-to-wins over Tampa and Cleveland is a good place to get going. And I have never been on the fire Chris Getz bandwagon. Actually, this team is watchable right now. I just don't know if they will stay that way.
  16. I never thought I would ever think this, but Gavin Sheets should be the everyday right fielder.
  17. The Sox still stink. And that comes from a hater. Just ask the guy in the booth.
  18. This is how I took it when I heard that the word "haters" was being used: White Sox grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory. Years and years ago on the night the Sox clinched their first division, JR lashed out at Harry Carey and Jimmy Piersall by calling them "scum." It was dumb to be bitter during a happy moment. Even Hawk was surprised. The Sox finally have a good moment with a walk off home run. Then this stuff starts. Garfien used the word, too and I got the impression JR's bidding was being done. Many fans like myself are not haters. We just can't stand to see what is happening to team. In a relative sense, the Sox don't have a lot of fans. They can't afford to alienate the few they have left. Schriffen is a new guy who doesn't know about team history. He should take some time to learn a few things. Of course, it would help if the team was playing better. Then Schrifffen and Stone wouldn't have talk about ice cream and deli sandwiches.
  19. Good for Kopech. Bad for the cutter.
  20. There is a hate-love relationship between a team and its fans. They will snipe at each other from time to time. No big deal. I think there are two cases when a team or someone representing a team shouldn't rip fans. The first is when the team stinks. Second, is when someone ends up ripping the most loyal fans. Fan alienation has been a large problem for the Sox for a long time. Stuff like this doesn't help. And it is a big indication of how bad things are with the Sox.
  21. I have been a fan over 60 years. That doesn't change the fact that the team is bad, and that its owner only cares about a new stadium that someone else will pay for.
  22. Schriffen is a complete idiot and a symbol of what is wrong with how this team is run. I know he has to be a "homer," but he is insulting our intelligence with his crap. Same with Stone who complains that the Sox aren't "getting any breaks." The broadcast booth is a joke. Garfien and Ozzie can go, too. And take the listless Gordon Beckham with them.
  23. Misplaying a routine ground ball that allows two runs to score is not a little thing.
  24. This guy is not a good play-by-play man. You're right. He is nothing but a JR spokesman. Him and Stone in the same booth is hard to take. I don't care about the Campfire Shake or whatever it is called. Jason had his issues, but he was way better than this. But then again, I'm just a hater.
