I am willing to let the team move. I'll help them pack.

There should be no new stadium. Period.

4/23 - Sox @ Twins 6:40 - Fedde vs. P. Lopez
Highland replied to WestEddy's topic in 2024 Season in Review
It really doesn't make any difference. The season was lost before it began. 2025 as well. -
4/22: Sox @ Twins - 640CT - Cannon v. Paddack
Highland replied to ChiSox59's topic in 2024 Season in Review
One thing I don't want to hear is they are not getting the breaks. Besides, good teams tend to get breaks, and then take advantage of them. And Stoney: Stop complaining about the umps. The Sox are not losing because of bad umpiring. They've been outscored 31-7 during the last four games. Sounds like the Bears getting trounced. -
This is not a major league level team in any way. The owner is playing his fiddle while Rome burns.
-
It is good they didn't get shut out. Something has to start somewhere even in a 100-loss season.
-
"It's going to take time" is a code phrase for the team not to invest in itself. Look forward to another dull off-season.

Tim was into the macho thing. He should have been into developing as a major league player. He had the talent, no doubt. Make the routine plays and the great plays will take care of themselves. What a waste.

Since 2008, things have been brutal. It used to be that JR's teams would go bad but rebound after a short time. Not during the last 16 years. The team will be looking at the 20th anniversary of the world championship with little hope. I don't see how JR expects to have leverage regarding a new stadium with a franchise in this bad a shape. Fans aren't going to buy tickets to eat ice cream. But don't worry. Ozzie is a legend. Stone is a legend. But if you're have diabetes, eating that ice cream will put you into a diabetic coma.

Maybe Tim can throw a few more bats. That always helped.

AND THAT'S A GREG AIDED WHITE SOX WINNER!

There have been some low scoring games that could have been won with a decent offense. There have been a few blowouts, but the hitting is what is losing games. -

Should have won both games. Pitching has not been that bad. If offense picks it up, they might win two in a row. Keep Sheets in the lineup. -
4/17/24 KC@CWS Game 2 Time for our once a week victory??
Highland replied to wegner's topic in 2024 Season in Review
Stone said Sheets is doing a good job in right. Much better than last year. -
The White Sox do have some talent in places, and the situation isn't as bad as it looks, bad as it is. The question remains as to whether this front office can put a team together to win on a consistent basis. Not all prospects are going to work out, and so money has to be spent in the free agent market. But, in the past, that money hasn't been spent or it has been spent foolishly. This team has done very little since winning the division in 2008. I'd like to be optimistic, but past performance doesn't allow for that. It is time to see real results, and it is hard to know when that will happen.

Is it wrong to want the Sox to embarrass themselves?
Highland replied to reiks12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What is embarrassing is admitting to people that I am a Sox fan. But I am a legend. Just ask Steve. Just ask Ozzie. -
ESPN predicts 120 loss season for the White Sox
Highland replied to hankchifan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Things are really bad when the only speculation is how awful the team will be. This is not a MLB roster. -
Don't know what has happened to him. Last year got 80 RBIs. Not a MVP stat, but it showed he could hit some. Looks clueless right now.

You can't be serious. Oh no, Stone can't be serious. Why is he a legend? Right now, the legend is denigrating himself.

Add new players? Getz' response - "Easier said than done"
Highland replied to tray's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Actually, Chris, adding players is relatively easy. In the offseason, you aggressively go after superior talent by offering contracts that are at least competitive in the marketplace. Also, if you ever put a talented team together, you can trade a good player to fill another need. See, Chris, it isn't that hard. -
What puzzled me is that the team acted as if Benintendi was the team savior when they signed him. At best, he was a so-so player, and now look at him. I wonder what these people are ever thinking.

Highland replied to reiks12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I agree. JR has run this team into the ground. The spirit of the fans is already broken. He stopped caring a long time ago if he ever cared in the first place. I don't relish losses; I just don't expect wins. I've been a fan for so long, and I have never the franchise in this bad a shape. JR should be the one embarrassed, but he isn't. -
Add new players? Getz' response - "Easier said than done"
Highland replied to tray's topic in Pale Hose Talk
At this point in the season, it is hard to add players. But other things could have been done in the past off-season, and things can be done in the next off season. This is not a major league ballclub. Just hoping minor leaguers will eventually develop will only result in another failed rebuild. Money has to be spent. If not, fans shouldn't be expected to go out to see a minor league team. Do they want three straight 100-loss seasons? -
This statement is trying to make it sound like this is an isolated event and just one of those games. But the no-offense Sox do this all the time. Even when Robert, Moncada and Eloy were in the lineup, they weren't scoring. There will be plenty more games like this. This team is historically bad.

4/13 GT - Reds at Sox (1:10pm)
Highland replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2024 Season in Review
And they usually can't get past the fifth inning because they have already thrown 100 pitches. Can't even pitch long enough to earn a win.
