  1. If I were the governor of Illinois, I would tell the Baseball Commissioner that if MLB wants an American League team playing in Chicago, it will have to play in GRF. Otherwise, private money has to fund a new stadium. A new stadium will not help the franchise. It will help JR or any other owner after him. A new stadium alone will not turn the White Sox into winners.
  2. Under no circumstances should JR get public money for a private venture. He would get two stadiums? Absurd. Even the location is absurd. If he wants to take the team to Nashville, he can do that with my blessing.
  3. This team won't be as bad as some think, and it will be good to see baseball again. But it is hard to get truly excited about a team that has no chance of going to the postseason. Getz deserves to have his chance, but he is just starting. One can only get so optimistic.
  4. Since the Blackout game in 2008, this team has had little success. In fact, this stretch of time is the worst since the Reinsdorf-Einhorn group bought the team. Only in major league sports can an organization be run so badly, and yet it wants something like a new stadium built with public money. GRF was built because JR said he couldn't compete in the old crumbling Comiskey. In little over 30 years since GRF was built, the Sox have been in the playoffs six times, and one of those was in the pandemic-60-game season. Turn the team around first, and then maybe we can talk about a new stadium. And I mean maybe.
  5. It appears that Getz does not want to rush young players to the big leagues. And I hope he prefers to have real outfielders play in the outfield. Another losing season is ahead but maybe it won't be as bad. Of course, anything would be an improvement over 2023. The 101 losses does not even begin to describe that nightmare.
  6. For fans living outside the city, there has to be some kind of parking. That also goes for people who have mobility issues, even more so. If the new stadium doesn't have parking to accommodate for people who have physical problems. I will be one fan who won't go. They probably won't miss me, but I won't miss them either.
  7. I think this is important. I am not in favor of the White Sox getting public help without sinking more money into this franchise. I don't care about a new stadium if a fourth-place team is playing in it and the ownership is making a ton of money. I find a great deal of this offensive. The team comes off a 101-loss season, and then it plays the Nashville and new stadium card? Work needs to be done on this team. Do it already and then we can talk about a new stadium.
  8. Any contributions from Eloy and Kopech would be a big bonus. It is not something I expect.
  9. Getz recently said he was not done yet. Is this what he means?
  10. Does this mean the rest of the division will be under .500 too?
  11. The White Sox will get their new stadium, and the ownership (whoever that is) will make money. Doesn't mean the team will get better.
  12. I'm just tired of the speculation. I understand the logic of trading Cease. But one way, it doesn't make sense. The team is short on starting pitching, so you unload your best pitcher?
  13. All this stadium talk is nothing but a distraction to how bad this team is, and the fact that we don't know when it will get better.
  14. Before the city or state provides any funding for a new stadium, the White Sox should show they are willing to invest in their team. Other words, no more tanking, no more slashing of payroll. Spend on the farm system, spend on free agents. Why should they get a money-making stadium just so we can see guys like Gavin Sheets play right field?
  15. I don't care about the stadium issue one iota. What difference does it make where they are playing if they still stink?
  16. The fight was a symptom of many problems, some created by Tim, and probably some created by the White Sox. His decline is sad for both.
  17. Love is a talented player who put on a great performance, but Dallas was terrible. The only time I see receivers that open is when the Bears defense is on the field. That game was pathetic.
  18. This is what you get when you really don't have a major league roster. Just get bodies in there because you have no one else. Next season has the potential to be more embarrassing than the last one.
  19. No, nothing wrong with it, for now. But the organization is putting its reputation on the line again. Another rebuild. They can only do that for so long. What if this rebuild doesn't work?
  20. Appears that the Sox are signing placeholders to give younger players a time to develop. That isn't all that bad, but we know this team won't be even contending in a bad division for a time. Maybe by 2027 this will be a winning team.
  21. Yes, there is a difference, but I still think we are saying the same thing. When something big needs to happen, it won't.
  22. The Sox had some real talented players during the 90's. Not so much now.
