  1. This time no JR threats should give him what he wants. If he wants to move the team out of GRF, he should have to move the team out of the city. He should do the honorable thing and sell. But we can't count on that. He likes to blame the fans. He can't blame the fans for the 2023 season.
  2. If there is any serious evaluation and interview process, it should be done by someone outside the organization. Someone who can look at things with an objective eye. In addition, this should have been done a long, long time ago, like at the end of 2011.
  3. For once, some clutch hitting. Nice to avoid a sweep, especially to a team like the Rockies.
  4. My god, dramatic changes were needed 15 years ago. Will 100 losses convince them changes need to be made? Dramatic changes?
  5. I don't think that will have any effect. JR's wife wanted him to sell, and that had no influence. Fans certainly won't have any influence. The most discouraging part is that public opinion, family concerns, and bad results on the field isn't changing anything. I don't think sinking attendance will change anything, either. We are stuck with things as they are.
  6. Yes, paying to watch a very bad team just to tell Jerry to sell isn't a great idea. Fans have been shouting at him to sell for a long time, and, as we all can see, it has had no effect. I don't understand how JR can watch this team sink to this level. But he won't sell, and fans taunting him will only increase his stubbornness.
  7. On the post-game show, they wanted to talk about some great Sox infielders of the past and then show some minor league highlights. Otherwords, they didn't want to talk about the present. Can't blame them.
  8. I agree. At least they tried to have fun. They went on a small hot streak in the summer. At that time, the Reds were called the Big Red Machine. For a time, the Sox called themselves The Big White Machine. They had some good guys on that team. They just weren't any good.
  9. If the White Sox want to build a new stadium, let them build and pay for it. They don't need a new stadium, they need a new team, a real one. Also, I wouldn't want JR to benefit from another stadium publicly financed.
  10. I'm with South Side Hitmen. Leadership starts at the top. This team didn't just start being bad, it's been bad for the last 15 years. Yet, JR kept the same people in place and the losing just continued. Decisive action needs to be taken, but I don't see it happening. Looks like we're in for another rebuild. Good luck with those season ticket sales.
  11. Won't miss Anderson. They're losing with him anyway. His one home run this year has been a real contribution. Only hope he is playing somewhere else next year. Or even this year.
  12. So many fans are already at this point. The FO will not admit they are in another rebuild. Hahn carefully has not used that word. But the team is in another rebuild. Does anyone truly believe they will have an active offseason? I would be shocked if they did. Meanwhile, we don't know when the Sox will contend again even in that lousy division. I don't know what the mindset of the FO is, but I have never seen a team more out of touch. I hope JR will enjoy sitting in his owner's box watching a bad team play in front of an empty stadium.
  13. I understand Sox fans enjoying it when the team beats the Cubs. But the beating the Cubs doesn't count any more than beating the Twins or anyone else. No matter what the Sox do today, they are still going to lose 90 games or more. Otherwise, I think this cross-town classic has lost his luster and they can keep their stupid cup. There is one real good thing about beating the Cubs especially at Wrigley: Cub fans will shut up for about 24 hours.
  14. Hate losing to the Cubs, but other than that, these games mean nothing. The Sox season ended back in April, maybe even before that.
  15. The Hawk hire was like so many others. Give it little thought and hand over power to some crony. Nothing has changed since then. Just ask Tony LaRussa.
  16. For the most part, the team has been losing since the all-star break in 2006. JR has not acted like he has cared all that much. Why should anything change?
  17. This team is completely boring. So is Steve Stone. Look for two more losses against the Cubs.
  18. Looks like one of Ozzie's Sunday lineups. Season can't get over fast enough.
  19. I hope the Sox continue to play Colas. He won't learn anything on the bench and is better than the other pretenders who have played right field.
  20. It's a strange way of wanting to win. You don't want to win that badly if you only want to prove a point and keep failing in the process.
  21. I agree with Great Scott. JR doesn't care anymore. If he is really "miserable" and wants the team to win, he would have taken some strong steps to turn the team around, and he would have done it years ago. If he wants to win, he should spend some money this offseason. If he doesn't, the Sox will just have another 90-loss season. So, I don't want to hear how much he wants to win. I don't believe it. Most fans don't believe it.
  22. I'd give Vaughn at least one more year. He might show something with a little time. What do the Sox have to lose? They're not going anywhere.
  23. Time to move on from Ozzie. He's entertaining on the post-game show, and that's a good place for him. He did a bad job in 2011, and the Marlins couldn't get rid of him fast enough. Ozzie is into being a celebrity. The team doesn't need that nonsense anymore. If the Sox replace Pedro, get an experienced man in there. Not an experienced, ex-Sox manager. Ozzie doesn't walk on water. Get someone else that has had no connection to the team.
  24. Even if fans boycott games, JR won't get the message. When fans stayed away after the White Flag Trade, he didn't get it. We fans didn't get it, and why couldn't we be more like Cub fans? We are in the middle of another rebuild unless the team does something dramatic in the off-season, and I doubt that. And I don't want to hear how great these prospects are rated. Not one can be considered great or even good until they prove themselves at the major league level. They say JR wants to win. I see no evidence of it.
