  1. Yes, Cease has to go more than five. Needs to keep his pitch count down. This can't be another game where the bullpen has to take care of half of the contest.
  2. One of these days, Robert will be considered one of the greatest to put on a White Sox uniform.
  3. Yes, hats off to Cueto. This guy pitches his heart out. And Robert is starting to look like the player he should be. The Sox offense has actually looked good for the past 10 days, and today played smart baseball. I hope they are not getting our hopes up for nothing. But I look at this as a big win.

I don't know anything about Eloy's work ethic, but I just don't feel good about his situation right now. I am aware the Sox can be closed-mouthed about injuries, but we don't hear much of his progress. He looked to have a future as being a special offensive player. Who knows what his future is now?

We keep hearing that everything will be great when the team gets healthy. Problem is the team is never healthy. It can't be said that this team is the favorite to win the AL Central.
  6. Not a good match-up although I think Cueto will give it a great effort. I hope that the game is at least competitive. Last two games against Houston, the Sox have been outscored 23-4. Enough of that nonsense.
  7. I don't know and can't say what is happening with Giolito this season. I do know I keep hearing announcers saying he is doing well considering he doesn't have his stuff that day. Maybe he hasn't had his stuff all year? Right now, I don't think we can count on him like we once did.
  8. I hardly ever get to watch the Cubs because I have no reason to buy into their network. When I had the chance to peek in at a game, I saw many empty seats in Wrigley. I think when Ricketts bought this team, he thought all he had to do was stand by the Harry Caray statue with an Old Style. The lovable loser stuff has long been over. The Cub FO has to turn this mess around quickly or the shrine on the north side is going to look awfully lonely.
  9. They really don't. They just look for a guy laying around who has a past connection to the White Sox and hire him. No others need apply. Why waste time with an interview?
  10. I wouldn't need to shut up because I wouldn't be chanting in the first place. As far as the winning streak, we will see if the Sox can start one against the lousy Tigers. Move into first place? They should be there already. Let's get into second place first. And let's hope that the middle relievers stop blowing multi-run, late inning leads. And let's hope Tony doesn't intentionally walk another hitter with two strikes.
  11. The offense looked good as it has been for the past week. Relievers survived some hard-hit drives. Jose's ninth inning home run was awesome. Yoan needs to sit until it can be figured out what's wrong with him.
  12. Right now, the Sox are closer to fourth than first. I don't think they can take these games for granted.
  13. The Moncada situation is strange to me. He looks as if he is still hurt. On one plate appearance, he got a good look at a pitch, and got the good part of the bat on the ball. But the ball went nowhere. It was nothing but the weakest fly to right. It is one thing to say Moncada might not be as good as thought. But a .130 average? In no way, is he that bad. Maybe he is hiding an injury for some reason or the coaching staff doesn't see what his happening. But he doesn't belong in the lineup right now and doesn't belong until all his physical problems are taken care of. I think Robert can still be a truly great all-around player. And I have doubts about Eloy even though he should be a large impact offensive threat. Young players hit a wall at times. I just wonder if this staff can help them get over that wall. It is one thing to have potential. It is another to achieve it.
  14. I don't know what was worse from Abreu. His hitting into a double play or taking that third strike. It seemed like his head was not in the game. Robert is a big disappointment. Since he isn't making it happen at the plate, he's trying to do it on the base paths. Maybe he has learned a lesson. I'm sure Tony will talk to him about it. The last few days has been some of the ugliest baseball I have ever seen.
  15. Panic is not the right word. Concern is a better one because this team looks lackluster. And I don't think they will take the division with ease. Historically, they have not matched up well against the Twins and the Guardians. Before I get optimistic, I would like to see a good, solid week of well-played, fundamental baseball.
  16. I understand the frustration with LaRussa. And I agree his departure would benefit the team in the short run. But in the long run? We have to remember this organization likes to hire friends and cronies. Then it becomes hard to fire these people, because, after all, they are friends and cronies. So, what would we see as a replacement? Someone who has to have a past connection to the White Sox? Someone who has no managerial or coaching experience? Walking time bomb Ozzie? Getting rid of LaRussa now or after the season would mean the FO would have to admit it has made mistakes. Is it willing to do that? We can only hope that the players can turn things around. But I don't know if the FO knows what is ailing the team, and I wonder if it knows how fix things. A new manager would help but the team needs more than that.
  17. Not to mention certain tax considerations.
  18. JR won't sell out of pure stubbornness. And more the fans chant about Tony, the more stubborn he will get about that, too. Might as well save your breath.
  19. If he is banking on these two things, he is delusional. So are fans who keep making these comparisons. This team has problems and hoping for a hot streak won't solve them. They just lost their second 11-9 game in three days. Their winning streak was stopped at 1.
  20. It is time sit Moncada, defense or no defense. The Sox are giving away four ABs a game. I don't know what has happened to him, but to keep running him out there makes no sense. This is not just a slump.
  21. Yes, he did, and Sousa wasted no time in giving up the lead.
  22. Well, it's so easy to be positive when you blow a 5-0 lead and bring in Matt Foster in the 10th.
  23. And this is what has been lacking from the White Sox offense this season. They put runners on, have a chance for a big inning, and the key hit doesn't happen. They have passed on so many opportunities to break games open. They finally did it against Texas. The game was close then, all of a sudden, it wasn't. If the Sox are to be considered real contenders, they need to do this more often.
  24. Sheets is not a major league hitter. I doubt that he will ever become one. It's too bad because he can put a charge into the ball at times.
  25. There are things to be positive about and Mendick and Burger have played well. And the injured will be returning although I have some doubts about Eloy and Lynn. Benneti made a valid point during a broadcast. If the Sox offense is going to produce, Grandal and Moncada have to contribute. I would hope they would since I can't see them putting up Adam Dunn type numbers for the whole year. It was good to see Grandal deliver with 3 RBIs against Texas. Moncada got a hit right-handed and maybe he should stop switch hitting? Perhaps Grandal should stop looking for walks? How about swinging at the first pitch a few times? But then again, there are the games when the Sox regress into some ugly stuff. Do that less and I'll feel better.
