  1. The person who should be fired can't be fired.
  2. This is obvious, but if all this team does this off season is cut salaries more, we will get another 120-loss season. There will be no reason for any fan to attend a game next year or for years after that.
  3. The 1970 White Sox drew a little less than 500,000. If the Sox do what we think they are doing to do this off season, the 2025 Sox should draw less. This is supposed to be a major league franchise. It isn't even close to that. JR should be told by every Illinois politician there will be no new stadium unless he invests in his team. This is a travesty. Cue the fireworks!
  4. I am glad I am not watching this. This is beyond a joke. First, 14 in a row. Then 21 in a row. Now 11 and counting. The season can't end soon enough.
  5. The Marlins stat is telling. This was a long time coming. This organization has been on the down slide since winning the division in 2008. Look at the rosters during 1990s and early 2000s. Even when they were not going to the playoffs, they had some talented players on the team. For so long, they have had so few. It gives fans a helpless feeling because there is nothing we can do. This franchise is an absolute disgrace.
  6. McKinney's hit was a bullet. One of the hardest hits I have ever seen. Roland Hemond did a great job as GM to improve that team. We need a topflight GM now.
  7. 44,250 attended the opener in 1971. The Sox won 3-2 with a run and Comiskey went nuts. There's nothing like hope. Would like to have hope now.
  8. I can remember sitting in Old Comiskey watching the 1970 team lose 106. They weren't nowhere near this bad. At least owner John Allyn had one excuse. He didn't have a lot of money and he did what he could to keep the franchise from collapsing.
  9. Yes, but there was a 99-loss season and a 100-loss season. JR just doesn't care.
  10. Not sticking up for Getz, but the Sox went 12 years without winning a division under Williams/Hahn, and that didn't seem to bother JR.
  11. All i know is that we can't have an offseason like the last one. This is not a competitive major league baseball team. Fixes don't happen in a year, but money needs to be spent. It's a shame there is no way someone within the White Sox corporation can unseat JR as CEO. He has turned this team into a national joke. But all he thinks about is a new stadium. Even if that should happen, it won't come to be until the end of the decade. What is to be done with the team until then? Set more losing records?
  12. I haven't quit on the team. The team has quit on me. You are right about the next few years. At least.
  13. Don't care what the team does in regard to any record. 2024 is a nightmare on its own accord and an indication of more losing yet to come. Rebuild my ass. This organization doesn't care about putting a winning team on the field. Have stopped watching games because I don't want to hear and see the death march led by Schriffen and Stone Poney.
  14. Who cares? In the end, he'll make no difference. 100 more losses next season.
  15. Yes, the stuff about the proposed stadium is getting sickening. I hope it never happens. And, yes, there is no sense of reality within this organization. Only the most gullible is buying the rebuild story, a rebuild that will never produce a winner. Yet, we hear a lot about a milkshake. Next year is the 20th anniversary of the World Series championship. The team hasn't come close since. And how are they going to celebrate this anniversary? With another 100-loss season and the hopes of a new stadium? I swear, it can't get any worse than this.
  16. Getz saying the rebuild will take a long time is the obvious way of telling fans the team is not going to spend money in the next off season. Yes, he needs to go. But this is a much bigger problem than Chris Getz. The whole organization needs an overhaul, and a ton of money needs to be spent. Telling fans to wait for a rebuild to work is like telling passengers on the Titanic to keep bailing. Someone close to JR has to try to get through to him. This franchise has become a laughingstock and making a few changes here and there isn't going to help. Right now, there is no reason for any fan to go to any game. This is not a major league organization. Talk of a new stadium only makes things worse. We fans should just laugh, because the Chicago White Sox are a complete joke.
  17. Hope for the best. Great player from the South Side HItmen.
  18. Last year, after a 101-loss season, JR didn't talk about what could be done about improving the team. His only concern was getting the taxpayers to build a new stadium. He doesn't care about leaving a legacy of winning. He wants that new stadium to be his legacy. So, he won't say anything, even in the face of this failure.
  19. Other than slashing payroll, I don't know what course Getz is on. The long term? This means the losing will continue. Cave? The Sox will do whatever they want to do even if they continue to lose. I have every confidence in that. Success? That is yet to be determined, and it may be years from now, if ever.
  20. Maybe number three with deep reservations. I do not have any expectations of this franchise and won't invest emotions in it. I won't invest money either as 2004 will be the first time since 1981 when I will not have attended a game. Not worth it.
  21. I know of no such rule. All I know is that I am not buying into this so-called rebuild. It is nothing but a scam on major league scale.
  22. Contracting will not happen, but it should. This is not a major league team and won't be for a long time.
