  1. Anderson is the last person the Sox can lose for any period of time. In addition, I don't have too much confidence in Eloy coming back soon. Lynn will need time to get in the groove, and it may not be until July when he starts to get back to normal. Then there is Moncada and Robert. Yes, things look bleak right now even with the bad division.
  2. Happy with the win, but this team sure has some problems. Game should have never gone into extras.
  3. Yes, it will take some time to work, but it would be right for the franchise in the long run. Constant tearing down and rebuilding is not the solution without solid leadership. If the the team loses the confidence of its most loyal fans, how will it bring the less die-hard to the ball park?
  4. Lynn should help, but I don't have much faith in Eloy right now. I will have to see it to believe it.
  5. In any other corporate situation, steps would be taken to oust the CEO when things go bad. But JR has controlling interest of the stock, and the board is old and infirm anyway. As I have said before, other board members stopped caring a long time ago. What should happen is that a good and experienced baseball man should come in and take control. He should hire his own manager and coaching staff. Then he should do an extensive analysis of the organization and then make appropriate changes. And he must have no past ties to the White Sox. Of course, this won't happen. But short-term changes will not turn the club around. Things have to be done differently for the simple reason past practices have shown things just haven't worked. Firing LaRussa would help, but a lot more has to be done or this rebuild will fail big time. Then what will they do? Another tank job?
  6. I am sure the Twins will land on earth soon. And beating the Twins is much more important than beating the low-life Cubs.
  7. I will say yes although I have big doubts about their success once they get there.
  8. I am convinced that Moncada is hurting more than he wants to let on. I am with everyone else. Harrison batting second is crazy.
  9. Hopefully, this is a sign that FO realize that changes need to be made, and that they can't wait. Getting two innings out of Keuchel every five days wasn't cutting it.
  10. I have to admit you have a point there. I guess it would be nice to beat the Cubs into submission.
  11. I hope the White Sox never look at this as their World Series. You want to win these games because they count in the standings, but they are not this important. If the Sox would lose to the Cubs, but go to the real World Series, that would be okay with me.
  12. You may be right about this. And if they move to geographic realignment, Sox-Cubs games would make sense and have a real importance. But right now, it is more hype than anything. At the moment, it is more important for the Sox to beat the Twins than to beat the Cubs, as much I hate losing to the Cubs.
  13. There is no way in hell I'd stand to watch a Sox-Cubs game. This series has long outlived its usefulness. Time to end it.
  14. One problem this team has it will never make a Harper-type impact signing. That is why I have doubts about this rebuild.
  15. I am not ready to call the rebuild a failure yet, either. There is still a good core of talent here. But I wonder if the FO will do what is needed to finish this job. I don't want to make LaRussa the scapegoat, but his hiring just didn't make sense. And it makes me wonder about other things.
  16. Nice to see Dallas have pride, but he also needs to come out of the rotation. Going two or three innings is no help.
  17. Delusional and stubborn. JR is not going to sell and he won't make any major changes. The board members are all old and stopped caring a long time ago. Something dramatic needs to happen now, but it won't. The future doesn't look too bright.
  18. Chicago baseball teams gave up 36 runs in a one day. At least the Sox kept it under 20. Now on to the Crosstown Classic or whatever they call it nowadays!
  19. One thing I have noticed about Sox hitters is that they sometimes don't just take one strike but take two. Then they're 0-2 and they haven't even offered at a pitch. I don't know how any hitter can expect to succeed with an approach like that.
  20. I can't see the White Sox making a meaningful trade unless they want to give up on this rebuild. With luck, maybe a veteran pitcher can be picked up at the deadline. But I don't even expect that.
  21. Appears to me that Moncada isn't completely healthy. I don't know what is wrong with Grandal.
  22. Yankee fans boo at the drop of a hat. There is no reason for them to panic because of a two-game losing streak. And the Yankee fan who threw back Anderson's home run ball should be ashamed of himself for imitating Cub fans and continuing that god-awful tradition. Meanwhile, I hope this is a turning point for the Sox. They looked listless in KC until they overcame that 4-1 deficit in the last game. Hopefully, the offense will improve. Regardless, they have to feel good about beating the Yankees three out of the last five. With a little more hitting, they could have won all five.
  23. The Sox have looked like a different team the last three days. Even in the 7-5 loss, they played well. Nice job by Hendricks. So nice to see a three-up, three-down inning by him. If Pollack can give you any kind of offense that's a plus.
  24. I think he is. In the last KC game, he was in obvious discomfort after getting a single. Then he barely made it around the bases after the Robert home run. I don't think LaRussa even noticed. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't the lineup today.
