Watching Robert Jr tells it all. Started back but quickly realized it was long gone. Body language sagged. Kind of symbolized this season. Should have swept this series. How about another rebuild?
-
From the very start, Kopech has been a disappointment. He was over-hyped when he first came up. He had no command back then. He has never really found himself. That Burger HR sure went a long way. Waste of another good start.

Saying they will be better than 2024 isn't saying much. They need to spend but I doubt that they will.

Sox at Fish 7-6 3:10CDT, Crochet on the bump

Another bad offensive performance. Should have won this game. The Marlins left a ton of runners on. But the Sox looked dead after the first three innings. Didn't know the Marlins staff was that good. But at least Bennitendi got two hits on his birthday. -
Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”

In the second Marlins game, talked about what a great day Benintendi was having on his birthday. True, the guy had two hits, but one was an infield dribbler off the end of his bat. He then grounded out to second. So, on his birthday, Benintendi got one ball out of the infield in three at-bats. Then he butchered a play in left. Schriffen is so annoying. -
In addition to this bad season, there is no sense of urgency to improve things in the short run. And now Kenny Williams wants to return.

I wonder if KW came out with this because something is already in the works. He can sit right next to LaRussa. Getz can then rubber stamp things.

Don't count on being competitive by 2030. Not with this bunch.

It isn't almost offensive; it is offensive. I know this guy has to be a homer, but he needs to rein it in. The team is on its way to its second straight 100-loss season. That has never happened in franchise history. You can't sugar-coat that.

None, and that is a reflection of the whole situation. They should have built a winning team around him and didn't. They are in a perpetual state of rebuilding. When they will have a winning team is anyone's guess, but I don't think it will be any time soon. But they do have an announcer that growls.

I agree on Sale. Since trading him, the Sox have won two post season games. When do they stop trading for prospects?
-
A team should not trade a talent like Crochet.

I could care less about Richard Roeper.

Attendance is better than I thought it would be. But then again, I am an old guy who remembers the early 1970s and crowds of less than 1,000.

No, but he was a symbol of the problem. The Sox hired a crony when they should have done an extensive search for a manager. La Russa should have had the sense not to take the job. It would have helped if he stayed awake in the dugout.

This week: 5 games, 4 losses, a total of 11 runs scored. At first, I thought it was a five-game losing streak, because I lost track of the win.

I wonder how boring the Sox will be.

6/20 - Houston Cloud Column vs. Chicago Bean 1:10 pm

When was the last time the Sox had a come from behind win? They've done it once, haven' t they? -
Had the greatest overall talent. Could do everything and did it great. No one has matched him since.

There have been more than several disasters. Grifol is not going anywhere. Won't make much if a difference if he did.
