I hope Zack took this time to start to learn what preparation/work it takes to be a big league catcher from McCann. He also looked much better behind the plate than I thought he would from all I had read. I'm also not ready to write him off offensively. No reason to judge him too harshly with how he was being used.
However this one ends today, let's hope this is the beginning of a nice 2nd half for Lopez. If we can pencil him into the starting rotation looking the way he did today, that would be a wonderful thing for the rebuild.
I think that would be an interesting thread....do it
My 2 cents...I think the atmosphere in Oakland is a sensory nightmare. I would leave there with a headache. Of course that could be caused by how the Sox usually play there ?
I'm kinda surprised they didn't send down Ruiz instead of dfa Minaya. Minaya has not been that bad for the last year and a half. I know Ruiz has great stuff but he is very raw. Does Ruiz not have options left?
I marvel at the speed that Robert went from a guy who just kept getting hurt...to the thumb is fine time to fly through the minor league system. I want to see him playing next to Eloy asap!!
I agree. You need to have some luck in a rebuild and the Sox got very lucky on a move that most everyone here thought was a meh move. As stated earlier, just being part of Giolito's development is enough to keep McCann around.
