  1. I think Steele Walker is the future there. I hate that the Sox overpaid Jay to use him as a pawn in an awful and stupid game but Jay is probably the best internal option. Would would it take for the Reds to ship over Puig? He is starting to heat up.

Herrera has been shaky at best since he tweaked his back. I doubt he would bring back anything of substance at all in a trade. He's about as valuable as Tyler Clippard was when the Sox traded him imho
  3. Tough first Mlb game behind the plate for Collins having to catch Despaigne...of course he might not have to catch him for long
  4. I look forward to Collins extending his on base streak to 2 games.
  5. Answer to the other thread about the future of RF? Actually I see that Jay had a good day at the plate so we will probably see him soon.
  6. Throwing in Tatis to sweeten the Shields deal was a bit of a burn
  7. I really like Steele Walker as a definite possibility of a nice MLB outfield piece within a couple of years. Hopefully with the Sox. I am a little nervous of Hahn trading away the wrong minor league prospects to be honest.
  8. We ended up splitting the series....and the way we won on Tuesday was awesome!! I'll take it Sweep em at home ?
  9. McCann is gonna see some fastballs tonight hitting in front of Jimenez so I'm going with McCann.
  10. I'm with you. I also just have a feeling that he will be a useful bullpen arm when we are ready to really compete. Throw strikes Carson!!
  11. Is Brandon Guyer still in the organization? He should at least be a capable MLB bat. Plus he has one of the best nicknames, "La Pinata" for his propensity for getting hit by pitch in his career.
  12. Who is Jar Jar Binks in this scenario...Alonso?
  13. Cubbie fans sitting in the row behind me last night were really upset about that "old senile Hawk guy" dissing their beloved stadium...it brought a great grin to my face...and by the way, Wrigley is still a dump. I haven't been there in years and it is just as unpleasant as ever.
  14. I was there and the energy from the Sox fans was incredible. I did not see it but my wife said the Sox fan who got the Eloy homer stood on his chair, held up the ball and kissed it as the Cubbie fans desperately pleaded to "throw it back"
  15. Hey elrockin...I think our picks teamed up quite nicely in that 9th inning to win it....Let's call it a tie
  16. Ditto...Cub friend of ours is in from out of town and bought tickets. My lovely wife bought me new Sox gear for Fathers Day to rock at the game. I love it when someone out of the blue becomes a Sox hero at Wrigley...so I'm looking for Cordell or Tilson to have a big day!!! And please keep us close Nova so we can get to that Cubbie bullpen.
  17. I think that is because people have somewhere to vent with other Sox fans here at SoxTalk, especially during a game thread when something frustrating happens....Like Alonso coming to the plate
  18. When Eloy connects...well I think Jason Benetti said it best...WOW
  19. I'll take being correct for a month and remind myself in July that he is still only 25 years old!!!
  20. And I have to keep reminding myself that Giolito is still only 24 years old!!!
