Maybe that is a way to boost attendance. Share the stadium in Chicago with the Dodgers too?
-
I see that this is technically a home game for the Sox but there is nothing but Dodger blue in the stands.
-
Why didn't they just tell us that they did not want to spend all that money on Manny when DJ is just a year older and a little cheaper?
-
I love seeing TA fly around the bases.
-
I stand corrected, then. Thank you,
-
Oh, yeah? Well they have a lack of cool uniform choices. Have they even changed their design since they beat us in 1959?

Speaking of Joc Pederson...can someone explain to me how Peggy Kasinski's high school aged son broke the story of how the White Sox were interested in trading for him? A guess or does this kid actually have a source?
-
Well that was a very exciting, clutch at bat there by John Jay. I think that is worth much more than $4 million. Can we release him now so that he can go buy a Padres season ticket plan before all the good seats are taken? I hear it is beautiful there this time of year.

Moncada without the strikeouts woud be very fun. I love to see him run.
-
Ah, that begs the question: would you like Moncada with Madrigal's ability to put the ball in play or Madrigal with Moncada's power?
-
If Engel drives in one run a game, we can live with that with his defense ?
-
Yonder does not play as well when he has to DH. He spends all his time on the bench daydreaming about San Diego.

This game is not convincing me to buy that MLB.TV package.

I remember hearing a podcast or White Sox weekly a couple of years back and they were interviewing one of the national baseball writers. They asked him who he thought the White Sox closer would be when they were ready to compete. Without hesitation he said Carson Fulmer (this was when Carson was struggling as a starter) .He thought Carson had the mental makeup and the stuff to close. I know the Sox expected him to be a starter when they drafted him but if he can be a part of a shut down bullpen, great. I have not given up on him yet.

Did Donn purchase a round trip ticket from the Far East?
-
Yep. Short term deals on veterans to fill out the roster and bring in that veteran presence. Trying to catch lightning in a bottle approach. The thing that really scares me is if our pitching prospects do not work out. They definitely will not pay for the top of the rotation free agent pitchers... and I do not trust Hahn and Kenny to know what prospects to trade and or keep to get that pitching.
-
What I realistically expect how the Sox will spend when they think they are in a position to challenge for the AL Central is like what they did a few years back when Andrew Miller was the top left handed reliever on the free agent market. The Sox instead went quickly in the off season to Zach Duke and gave him a slightly over market offer so that he would sign quickly. Short term deals to good baseball players but not necessarily great players. Our prospects are going to have to be the stars of the show. I hope it works.

MLB Trade Rumors predicted where the top 50 free agents would end up. They had our Sox not signing any of them...What do they know, we got two of them...#26 on the list Kelvin Herrera...and #49 Ervin Santana (pending physical). Hahn said the money would be spent. #1 is still out there. Sign Harper and win the off season.

Good then that is another reason to tell him to piss off.

Hey I am more than fine if this Tucker fellow or Brandon Guyer have a good enough spring so that the say buh bye to friggin John Jay. An interesting side note on Guyer that I did not know until today when I was looking up his stats...his nickname is La Pinata for his propensity to get hit by pitches...unfortunately I think he is a corner outfielder and might play center as well as Rob Mackowiak so maybe Guyer won't force Jay out.
-
I look forward to the following as soon as possible: "The Chicago White Sox have granted John Jay his unconditional release."
-
Way to throw your brother in law under the bus, Manny. As far as Jay, I don't see the point of him on this roster plus he is an ex-cub. If he helped recruit for the Padres?...screw him.
-
Yep, that is an absolute prick move by Manny there.
-
You need a closer, how about Rob Dibble.

Sox signing Ervin Santana (pending physical) to milb deal per WSD

Fair point, and you need protection from injuries.
