This is funny. Obviously a joke towards the Machado crap from a few years ago.
Same agent too. What if that’s part of his strategy? Lol

Yes, and these are contracts were the players are going to die with at least some of the money in the bank, so what is more important is the pub of the contract signed, years and dollars, not what the total payout actually will be.
I guess it can be a deciding factor if all else was equal but I don’t know if it’s that big of a deal.

Is that all that different from Keuchel and Kimbrel each sitting out 1/3 of the 2019 season because no one would sign them to contracts they were comfortable with until their Qualifying Offers expired?
It's not that teams are choosing not to sign guys, it's instead that teams are choosing not to sign them at the prices they would require. Unlike the NBA and NHL, no funds are being held in escrow to offset the losses MLB is taking this year, so if there's only $100 million left that teams across the league have to spend, and there's 100 players left.
Yeah, I agree but that was two players holding out for decent contracts. This has the potential to be way more damaging. 85% of free agents are available weeks before “spring training”

How catastrophic would it be for baseball if teams just choose not to sign some of these guys? I don't even want to think of the long-term consequences it could have for the game.

Honestly man I never pay attention to that shit.
Look, sometimes there is a k0na, a Katy perrys Bootyhole. Most of the time it's Dan Clark sports and not-cichek
Totally agree there. Maybe it’s hope because I desperately want the Sox to get better lol but honestly, I have paid attention to these guys and nothing has made me turn on them yet. If they are wrong, I’d totally rip them. K0na is the goat btw.

Hey man feel free to believe in whatever you want. Not Rick Hahn still hasn't lived down a two year olds birthday party so knock yourself out
If you remember, I have historically been anti “inside sources”. The boredom of this offseason caused me to pay more attention and I believe they may be on to something.

I'm not trying to settle anything. I'm just witnessing yet another off-season where someone grabs onto a suspect group of Twitter handles and acts as if they have the mole in the front office. Every fuckin year we have the same bullshit, and then we have people like you who are like "well this account has never been wrong in the 4 months they have existed"
just waiting for Hendriks to sign with the Blue Jays and those accounts to state they knew the Sox were out all along
Look, I’m going to admit that I am a big believer in Al’s and Portillo’s. There is a long list of things that they had first. I will spare you listing them all but Al’s never promised a Hendriks signing. Al had a tweet yesterday that I agree with. He said that there are things that he has posted first (for example Hendriks is the Sox #1 priority) then the next day Nightengale tweets it and weeks later people accuse Al‘s of stealing from Nightengale. He said Hendriks and his agent left MVP. I’ve looked and it’s listed nowhere. Weeks later people confirm this. I don’t think Maloney should get the hate he gets for posting this stuff. Portillos has been posting for well over a year without a following. This isn’t your typical fake account stuff. Also, Al’s is followed by and interacts with a bunch of real reporters. Plus think of it this way, without Maloney posting these accounts, this board would be dead this offseason.

I don't care what artificial constraints need to be put in place...but baseball has to get a better offseason. It gets worse every year.
Absolutely agree. This is brutal.

One day, they should make a documentary about ACB’s lone “source” in the White Sox org. What kind of weird life has the source led to develop this relationship with ACB? And now even more weirdly, making it his personal mission to feed any inside information he gets to his special friend/pet.
If it’s a real thing happening, it’s just funny to think about the actual dynamic.
?? I’d watch it. I think he’s mentioned his “source” before but he could be lying about the real dynamic. Maybe he is the actual source himself ?

Jerry told KW that he has to pay out of pocket any penny above his limit on Hendriks. This is the result.

Do you really want to go up against the Yankees, Rays, & eventually Red Sox?
That’s true. I guess there is more competition in the East. I just don’t buy that the Sox as currently constructed are that much better than some of the other teams involved.

I think so based on the two Padres trades. Although it might have to be Kopech over Cease possibly.
I agree on Kopech. Luis Castillo is a STUD

I know people think the Sox are the better bet for Hendriks talent wise but are they really that much better than Toronto? Especially if Toronto gets a few big fish?

The previous thread on this is locked so I can't bump it to the top.
I think it's time that a general targets/trade ideas thread resurfaces which is separate from all the food fuckers' crap which the same 2 posters keep putting out. You people stay out of this thread and keep those food fuckers and all their stupid bullshit out of here, ya hear?
I'll start off by recommending a trade of Grandal back to the Brewers for Hader and a prospect. Then the Sox can throw some money at Realmuto. I'm not sure why the Brewers would want to take on that salary tho. Maybe get a third team involved.
“Stupid bullsh**” and then proceeds to suggest trading Grandal back to the team that couldn’t re-sign him at the Sox price. Also suggests that the Sox would pay Realmuto. Give me a break LOL

Old: Mega Hendriks Speculation Thread

Ok, you guys ready for a conspiracy theory that probably means nothing?
Al’s Cheesy Beef has been talking about how Hendrik’s said in an interview that the team he chooses has to embrace this service called “Codify Baseball”. I read the article and he did say that. Al’s talked about how all these Sox players use it. Then I noticed that the official Twitter has been interacting with Al’s tweets. I think to myself “maybe the like every mention of themselves” so I check their likes. This Twitter only likes or retweets MLB players and you guessed it! Al’s Cheesy Beef.
I found the fact that they liked this interesting:
