So Phil Rogers jumped into a conversation that Cheesy Beef was having and kind of defended his point about TB wanting Kopech for Snell. He want tagged or anything. Is Al’s beef his burner!? Didn’t he write about this trade?

No. After Bauer there isn’t a pitcher worth banking on.

Acquiring Snell is just such a killer instinct move. Put your foot on the neck of the AL Central. This isn’t like getting samardizja or Shields etc. the Sox have never had a nucleus this strong. Samardzja and Shields were added to borderline .500 teams. This would be adding an ace to a playoff team. I would cry.

Yeah the closest equivalency to a Sale trade the Sox can do is: Vaughn , Kopech, Adolfo and wildcard. Snell would likely cost one or the other (Vaughn and Kopech). Especially when you favors in TB’s financial motivation.

I would do it all day every day. I think the Sox would have to throw some teenagers we never heard of in.

Trading for Blake Snell would be such a great move. There is not a player I’d rather see the Sox acquire

Please stop. Grandal is a top 2 catcher in baseball period. Do some research. Look up some advanced stats. Stop it.

So I just realized that NBC Sports is covering the “Virtual Winter Meetings” next week. I had no idea they were doing it at all. Maybe we get some movement and everyone can stop arguing about food accounts and players that will never play on the South Side.

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
Orlando replied to Jose Abreu's topic in The Diamond Club
Bauer is pretty witty. I wouldn’t be surprised if he saw the speculation from Joel Sherman and threw Giolito in there to make it appear like the Sox are in on him. Squeez some extra dollars out of the Mets etc -
Guys, did the Beef guy really call this McCann stuff?

Rosario but neither to be honest. Jackie Bradley Jr.

Anybody see Bruce Levine on Marquee say the Cubs might sign George Springer lol he’s worse than Portillos, Al’s etc
-
I think it depends on what the Twins do. I would love for them to get better instead of relying on their rival to get worse. Can’t discount the potential losses of McCann and Colome.

I don’t think that happens, James. They need to make some pitching additions.

What is payroll flexibility when a big portion of it is spent on a bunch of trash? Mazara, Gio Gonzalez, Encarnacion, Cishek come out about 1 year of Machado who they missed out on because they didn’t wanted to keep flexibility.

I know Vaughn will be awesome but he won’t start in the MLB and what if he stinks it up in AAA to start the year? Then you have a DH hole for a long time. I don’t mind filling it with someone cheap and productive like Schwarber.

I think Jesse meant that they would sign 100+ million dollar contracts. So I think he meant they won’t be dishing out dough on the free agent market. Snell wouldn’t be disqualified based on that info. So I would love if that happened.

Trade for Snell Sign Joc or JBJ Sign Richards or Quintana boom

Merkin, Bruce Levine and multiple national guys have said the Sox will spend. I am not saying I don’t believe Rogers, I do. This was about free agency so maybe the Sox are no longer going for Springer/ Bauer. Maybe Springer does want to stay East and Bauer is way out of their price range (even bad pitchers are getting PAID) Those two and Ozuna are the only three “top tier” free agents. Ozuna was never rumored to be a possibility. The food accounts have banged the drum on trading for a SP. This is not going to make the sky fall for me. There is a path to a very good offseason outside of Springer/Bauer/Ozuna.
