James Fox is the most reliable. Never throws crap at the wall like Cishek or Schins. Schins is a regular guy and pretends he has info On all of MlB lol. James Fox rarely even breaks news unless he’s 100% certain and when he opined that the Sox would not sign La Russa, he came back afterward and showed that he was as blind sided as all of us. Schins and Cishek just pretend they never said it lol

This would be absolutely inexcusable. It does against what Merkin and national writers have suggested but if this is the Sox trying to squash those rumors, it’s horrible. Having this old man leave his retirement for a first round exit lol.

I agree but if the options are a Bradley type or go with what we have, I’m taking Bradley happily. If the Sox spend on pitching and go with Bradley in RF I’m good

Bradley was worth close to 2 War last year. He had 7 bombs and a .283 average.

We are beyond letting the young guys play. Who exactly would Bradley be blocking that the Sox are developing? The answer is no one.

I’m confused, you would rather just stick with Mazara than signing an average to good player like Bradley? You say “no thanks” like it’s a bad idea but then say Springer and Pederson are off the table. This is the attitude people had about Ozuna last year. Everyone was saying “no thanks” but look where we ended up. If Jerry isn’t going to spend much, Bradley is a good get. His defense alone makes him more valuable than Mazara and his lefty bat makes him better than Engel.

Found this hidden gem on Twitter. Merkin says: 1. No one really knows how much the Sox will spend. 2. He does NOT squash a Bauer signing, says the Sox will be interested. 3. He does NOT squash the Springer possibility but says the Sox prefer a lefty. 4. He mentions Quintana a lot 5. Says the Sox want to sign 2 veteran starters. All significant because in years past, he would have squashed all these ideas if the Sox were indeed not going to spend.

Yikes, I can’t believe that Tony hasn’t reached out to him. Also, Tim saying things like “make it as smooth as possible” and “if he allows it” is so embarrassing for the White Sox. So stupid of the team to not connect Tony and Tim.

I think that’s true but it shouldn’t stop you from bringing in good talent. What if Vaughn isn’t good right away? What if he gets injured? What if he sucks in the minors?Who is your DH? Too many good players at the same position is good thing. Vaughn shouldn’t come into the equation until he’s up and producing. The window is open.

I agree but I’m a believer that you sign the best players available to you. Hopefully it’s the best fit but there is no guarantee you can find that best fit. Good teams stockpile good players. Ozuna wasn’t a fit for Atlanta either at the time but it worked wonders. Los Angeles operates this way. I would hate for the Sox to pass on a chance to sign a Molina type hoping to convert on a better fit just to end up with Collins. They passed on Ozuna, Castellanos etc and ended up with Nomar.

We have no idea if Vaughn starts the year with the MLB club, heck he could even be traded.

Ok guys, Yadi may not be the best fit but I wouldn’t throw out the “not a fit” stuff. Last year everyone said Ozuna was “not a fit” and in hindsight I would have rather gotten him then what they gave us. If the Sox go with Collins and Zavala, we will all wish they had signed Yadi. The more good ball players the better. Obviously if he signs here there will be an understanding that his playing time would take a hit.

1. He is a FA 2. The Sox need a catcher 3. His former manager now manages the Sox He's not the best fit but it definitely isn't zero reason.

Yadi on the 2020 McCann plan would be cool with me. Especially if they don't plan on signing a DH.
