Hasn’t been much. But this was written by Morosi so I think it’s safe to say they are interested in both -

From an article on Tsutsugo: The White Sox likely won’t attempt to sign Tsutsugo immediately, while waiting for decisions from free agents Nicholas Castellanos and Marcell Ozuna.” -
First time hearing the Sox On Tap Podcast. They had Merkin on. A lot of good stuff. He said that this isn’t one of those off seasons where the Sox miss a target and stop. They will add. He also predicts that they will make two moves at the Winter Meetings. Also said that SP is the priority before RF

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.

Because there is a lot of false info floating around. That includes the info that started this thread. That’s my point. -

I would actually be happy if the Sox got Bumgarner but I don’t think they will offer enough to overcome the national league preference. Reds and Cardinals interested

4. A guy who I was told writes for Future Sox did indeed tweet that Wheeler will sign with the Sox by Thanksgiving. He was DMd for clarity and confirmed that it was based on a source and not a feeling. No need to bash Future Sox but the writers should not tweet out this type of info and not expect backlash when it’s wrong. It’s the name of the game. That’s why people break stuff on Twitter. They get praise when it’s correct but when it’s wrong they open themselves to criticism. https://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/houston-astros-rumored-to-be-nearing-deal-with-edwin-encarnacion-113016 I was looking everywhere for this because I was sure someone from Future Sox made a claim like this before and I found it. Nothing against Rabbit, I love when he posts here but this is further proof not to do that. -
They are going to waste years of Moncada etc if they don’t start taking risks. They can’t field a playoff team internally. Now or never
-
Would be a decent pickup

https://www.sfgate.com/giants/amp/Bumgarner-Giants-free-agency-stock-rising-14879151.php Brings up great points about Bungarner’s rising worth
-
This is true but Ryu can also be 2019 Ryu. Covey sucks with no upside and was also injured last year opening the door to a host of bums
-
He’s also a guy that can turn into vintage Madison Bumgarner. The upside is worth it. It will be praised nationally and locally. You have to take risks. The Sox don’t have a better option IMO. You aren’t going to get someone of value if you don’t trade Robert, Madrigal or Vaughn. This is the time to take risks. Or waste another year of peak Moncada and Giolito. Standing pat is not an option IMO.
-
People would rather lose and stick with the garbage they have thrown out there because they feel like contracts are risky. Idc about Reinsdorf’s wallet. Ryu, Kuechel and MadBum are better then any 3-5 the Sox threw out there last year on their worst day
-
It just doesn’t make sense. “He’s injury prone” ok, enjoy Covey and Despaigne
-
Fans seem opposed to MadBum, Kuechel and Ryu. My question is what’s the alternative? Save Jerry 60-100 million and start Covey? Trade Madrigal or Robert for a better pitcher? I think the Sox are against a wall. I’d rather have MadBum than stand pat. AT LEAST MadBum has upside and brings national appeal and a proven name for casuals, something the Sox sorely lack.

Definitely love the work you guys do. I read almost every piece. Just a few guys try to play insider on Twitter. I noticed that you are very intentional about making it clear that you aren’t trying to be an insider and I appreciate that -

Can’t tell if this is sarcasm but wouldn’t they be much more in tune with the Sox? Also didn’t someone from FutureSox falsely reported Encarnacion to the Astros a few years back? -

We also had someone from Future Sox say the Sox would get Wheeler by Thanksgiving. We see how that worked out. -
I love the fact that the Sox offered the most for not one but two FA. They converted on one and they didn’t on the other. They have learned their lesson. When it came out that the Phillies got Wheeler everyone said “omg how can they get outbid!” Then it came out that they offered the most and people said “they should have just offered more!” How does anyone know that 130 would have sealed the deal ? Maybe the Sox had to offer an amount that was ridiculous (Corbin) to get Wheeler to sign. I’m glad they didn’t do that. That would turn ugly
