Totally agree. They have made great moves but because of the stupid money statement, they will be ridiculed for a while and the heat will be off of the Sox.

Nightengale said multiple times that the Sox were the team Machado will sign with. If i remember correctly he even at one point said they were the only team serious about Machado and that didn't fit the timeline we learned when he signed with SD.

Bryce and the Dodgers are a match made in Heaven. Seems like the exact type of place he’d thrive. Wish the Sox would get him but if they don’t I’d be more interested in watching Bryce play in LA than Philly.

I know that we are already pissed at the Sox but what number does the Phillies deal have to reach to not make us even angrier? I would be pissed if it’s Manny’s contract and down.

For all of the guys here saying f the board and bragging about how long you have been a part of an internet community, you are taking this way too seriously. We are all fans of the same team and this team is not close to the most important thing in any of our lives. Offering info is cool but I’m tired of the feeling that if we even question somebody the old guard comes in and starts talking about the good ol days. If info was right everyone would be singing the praises of the insiders but what they said would happen didn’t so people question them. Not to bring up old stuff but I think it's finally safe to say the Sox were leaking 7/175. As dumb as it sounds.

I think the more we hear the more JR and his motives become crystal clear. He is here for one reason and one reason only: To be a gatekeeper and depress player salaries. He wanted Machado on his terms and now they are literally telling Philly "we are out, don't raise your bid". He's doing this at a time where players are being vocal and taking a stand against ownership and the CBA. We will never sign a big FA again if this is right.

The Phillies front office is obviously much better than ours but I have a feeling they lose out on Harper. Not to the Sox but someone that will make us all say "The Sox should have done that!"
