In a hot minute.
I’d trade Kopech and Kelley if that’s what it took

I’ll post the Reddit thread. The dude says will be announced in 24-48 hours. Doesn’t know the package. Would do a ban bet and he’s super confident that’s why he didn’t use a burner lol like Reddit accounts aren’t anonymous already. But it’s still interesting.

There is someone on the White Sox Reddit board saying that it’s a done deal Burnes to the Sox but he has 0 credibility and I bet he’s jumping the gun based on Al’s retweet

Vaughn, Cease, Kopech (one of two would have to be in it)
I’d think so too. Idk if I’d be down with that.

Yeah.
but what if they did?
If they did, I’d be ecstatic and it would make Al’s Beef a real legend for hinting at it in advanced. Maybe our resident insiders can let us know if they think it’s a real possibility?

I didn’t catch that but I find it hard to believe the Brewers would part with him for anything less than an absolute haul. Idk why they would trade him. I also don’t know who the Sox have that would be appealing to MIL?

I asked James Fegan if the Sox are interested in Quintana and La Stella.
His response goes in harmony with what one of the food guys said about a $8 million limit for SP. It seems they are looking for a deal on someone. Sucks if they are hoping La Stella isn’t getting a starting job. I’m sure someone will give it to him.
This was his response:Not beyond a general sense of they could fit. The party line has been that Nick Madrigal is supposed to be ready for Opening Day, which you could read as posturing for price with someone like La Stella, but both those guys are pursuing assured starting roles, so the Sox would be pouncing in the case they cannot find it.

Quintana- 8Mil
La Stella- 5 Mil
Flowers -2 Mil

In essence, a 5th starter is what's needed. I've been saying since last Spring, one of either Cease or Kopech needs to end up turning into a TOR stud in order for this rebuild to have been a complete success.
Quintana as an affordable #5....yes, sign me up.
Yup, and that rotation (outside of Kopech) is extremely durable with Q at 5. Guys that stay healthy and eat innings. I don’t understand why people don’t want Q.

Giolito-Lynn-Keuchel-Quintana- Cease/Kopech Is pretty good, especially with our bullpen.

I’m not reading this thread anymore. In an hour there will be 50 new posts and it will all be the same poster arguing in circles.

Oh come on, like you haven't sent a few dick DMs here and there yourself....
I bet former Chicago sports reporter Sierra Santos alone knows what the junk of half of Soxtalk looks like.

Hector was definitely trying to translate the other guys tweet. The only times he has been wrong is when he trusts these small time reporters and tweets out their scoops.

There were 36 new posts in this thread since I last checked it so I figured something was happening...
Alas, instead it was just a bunch of @RagahRagah Hall of Fame notices instead.
What else is new?

While I’d expect them in that range for a starter, I’m a little confused as to why they’d have a have a hard cap unless all they have left is $8M or they are already committed to a bat like La Stella.
That’s what I’m thinking. Reminds me of the Eaton over Brantley stuff. They said signed Eaton to afford Hendriks. Maybe they can only spare 8mil to get that extra bat they want.

It only took 20 minutes for this post to age poorly. That might be a new record.

Kluber currently lives in Winchester, Massachusetts. East coast makes a ton of sense to be closer to his family. If the Sox are serious, it's going to be very tough for them to convert with the Yankees involved. They'll most likely need to outbid their competition, and Kluber is really going to have to have a desire to play in Chicago. Yankees also have more glaring holes in the rotation, and therefore a more guaranteed starter role.
I do feel like the Yankees could be outbid pretty easily though. They have so many holes to fill and only ~20 million left. They won’t touch the luxury tax and need multiple starters. I think a team like the Sox could take on a few million and win.

Have the foodies said anything today about Kluber?

Am I hearing this right or is Rick Hahn insinuating they are done adding?

2/30?

FYI the last time this guy obsessively tweeted about someone it came to pass. I hope the Sox don’t sign Kluber but won’t be upset if they do.
the old Corbin Burnes thread, we have a new Burnes thread

I’d love to see it but the pessimist in me says it ain’t happening. I guess what gives me hope is the fact that @Harold's Leg Lifthasn’t shot it down, @Y2Jimmy0mentioned him as a target and Al’s has said they are interested.
