Unless the Sox did that to make up for the fact that they were never going to meet his price. Remember when it was being reported way early in the off season saying that they weren’t interested in record breaking contracts etc

Padres are the biggest threat. The Athletic said that Manny wouldn’t meet without meeting a certain amount. The fact that they met is scary.

Fact I learned on Reddit: Manny Machado has now been unemployed longer than he was a Dodger. Machado was traded from the Orioles to the Dodgers on July 19th. He became a free agent on October 28th, after the World Series. That is a period of 101 days. October 28th to February 13th is 107 days.

On Padres reddit, they seemed to view Paul Crane as their version of Hector Gomez. He constantly tweeted stuff out that was pro Padres. They constantly shared it. Obviously Hector is way more credible but they viewed him similar. They might meltdown after this.

Especially a day after you find out your wingmen (Yonder and Jay) are not helping you out.

Let’s change the name of the franchise to the Chicago Safety Nets. “Hey free agents, chase your dreams and if they don’t work out, we will be right here to catch you at a discounted rate!”

Why are people saying SD is not realistic? To be fair I think they are a very realistic destination and have spent money in the past. They worry me the most.
