Thank you for the info on Rabbit. Like I said I do not know him. I am not bashing him. Everyone here respects him and his opinion. I only know him from a couple of years back on twitter incorrectly scooping Encarnación to the Astros and then Thursday with the ominous stuff about Joc. I respect him though if he has proven himself to this board.

I wouldn’t call it ugly. I think it’s a fair conversation to be had. People that work hard and are courteous enough to share good info should be celebrated. At the same time, people who claim to have sources and post ominously should be questioned when they are wrong.

Not a rant. Posters have the right to question. Dave scooped Tulo to the Yankees way before anyone else. That’s fact but I have asked numerous times what Rabbit has scooped because I want to believe and no one has ever been able to produce anything!

Everyone keeps saying that Hahn can't say stuff in the media because it give Lozano leverage. I don't think that makes sense. If the average fan can see that the Sox are bending over backwards to sign Manny, Lozano can too. Hahn saying that "we have had a good off season just ask someone outside of the org!" and "Our fans wont be disapointed!" isn't going to bamboozle Lozano to take a lesser offer.

Do we really believe that despite what Rick says, Lozano isnt smart enough to know that the fans will revolt? He has leverage already.

Look at his quotes at SoxFest. Leaps and bounds better than this. Acknowledge the fact that fans will be disappointed but ensure us that you will continue to strive to make moves. Not that hard. Don't pretend that Sox fans will be fine. They wont.

I have been one of the most optimistic posters in regards to getting Manny but I really believe this morning's quotes were not good. Especially saying the off season was a success and having to point to "others outside of the org" to make it believable. So unnecessary and insulting to the fan base. Say that you are trying your hardest to get your guy and if you don't you are still confident but don't claim you had a great off season. It screams of saving face way more than negotiating through media.

Just reacting to what Hahn said. He had some very disappointing quotes. It's not doom and gloom because we are irrational, it's doom and gloom because Hahn is on a radio show talking like a wimp

Hahn said that there are other players they are talking too that would make us better. That sure sounds like free agency. Who the heck could that possibly be? Marwin? Moustakas?

Is this a damage control and concession tour? The way he is being quoted seems like it. "There are other players we are talking to you" " Some outside of the Org. think even without Machado we had a good offseason" Sounds like an insecure GM. Maybe I am over reacting but he sure doesn't seem as confident as he sounded at SoxFest.
