This really annoys me. You traded for Manny's brother in law that didn't fit the depth chart and help a division rival shed salary. You over paid for his best friend coming off of a down year. You traded a young catcher for a 2 year reliever and replaced him with James Mccan. You traded for an average at best 5th starter. You paid Kelvin Herrera a very comparable annual salary to Ottavino. No Hahn, without Machado this wasn't a good offseason by any stretch of the imagination. And guess what Hahn? Until the White Sox get with the times and give a 100+ contract to someone, there wont be a parade.

Those quotes don't inspire much optimism. No Hahn, if you don't get Machado, IDC what "others on the outside say" this was a weak off season.

I first came across that twitter by searching White Sox on Twitter. I just don’t understand how he has a connection that can tell him about Manny but no way to find out about Joc. “I have no idea why Joc hasn’t happened but here’s some even bigger news that I can get with a simple text”

So the burner account can easily get info about Manny but can’t figure out why Joc hasn’t happened?

No need to cut negotiations and move on. Hahns plan b is very likely staying the course. You don’t need to move on to do that. You can wait as long as it takes.

It’s crazy to think that Chili’s guy said Manny wanted to sign at the meeting lol. I know he got Abreus involvement and then Herrera signing but that seems obviously false now.

Even if this team or next years team goes on a deep playoff run without Manny, everyone is going to say they would have went further with him.

My scariest scenario isn’t even missing out on Machado, it’s losing him to an underwhelming offer that we should have beaten.

Outside of a World Series win, or another huge signing, would this franchise ever bounce back if Machado signs with the Padres for 7 years 200 or less million?

If anyone other than the Phils or Yankees get him at a reasonable price, it shows that the Sox overplayed their hand. I would have 0 confidence in this FO for not getting this done when they had a shot.

Found the Padres subreddit talking about this reporter who claims Machado is close to signing with the Padres for 8 years. Supposedly going down this weekend.

I think once Machado signs, Moustakas may be heavily sought after and get a significant guarantee. Especially if the Padres sign Machado. I don’t think the Sox will bite.

I would guess Danny Valencia or a long shot a Greinke trade.
