9-23 Game Thread: Sox @ Cleveland (5:10 PM)
ChiSox1917 replied to SoxBlanco's topic in 2020 Season in Review
Need to do something to get the cubanos (minus jose) going. They are really struggling right now and unless they get it going it will be a quick first series in the playoffs -
Well it took red faber a year to recover from the spanish flu. So hopefully less than that

9/22 - White Sox @ Cleveland: Lopez vs Quantrill

So glad to see rickey supporting edwin by bumping him up in the lineup. Well deserved based on parrots recent performances -
He was an unneeded addition. And now that we’re watching him every game, some of his flaws that dodger fans complained of (blocking pitches, calling a game), are much more noticeable than when you only caught a few games of his a year playing for another team.

This past offseason is really looking like a complete failure minus dallas

Don cooper isnt considered to be a great pitching coach by anyone not named don cooper

In all honesty, may be better for them not to win the division. Would rather face yankess than the indians in the first round personally -

He did. But the big thing i notice is his bat speed noticeably looks slower, and he also seems more passive at the plate this year. I think fatigue is getting to him. Either way, he needs to work on his conditioning this offseason -

Its not that hard. Mccann and grandal start every game and alternate between dh and C -

Agreed. I was posting last offseason that we didnt need grandal and that ozuna shouldve been our primary target (after starting pitching). Felt the same way about EE. Ended up talking myself into both after the fact, but am really disappointed in both. trying to talk myself now into grandal over the next four years, but id rather have mccann and that money still available for pitching -

Would really like to know if grandal and mccann call their own games or if one/both are receiving signs from the dugout. Early in the season it looksd like grandal was, but not as much anymore. I think this is a really underrated part of mccanns game in that he seems to sequence pitches and location better than grandal does -

Not remotely scared of the yankees this year -
Same he has actually regressed from last year. He looks like dogshit out there. easily the luckiest pitcher in the league this year
-
this is a weird argument. Do we need an opener for keuchel now too? Dunning has more “overpowering” stuff than keuchel does.
-
Why does dunning need an opener?
