  1. What pitcher on that staff didn’t have their career year in 2000? Baldwin, sirotka, and parque just weren’t that talented.
  2. If you could get two top 100 prospects back for him right now do you turn down the trade? I want kopech to succeed, but at this point, i really question his mental fortitude to do so
  3. Loved that team but never thought they were a legit contender. Their pitching staff was weak and we just got lucky they all had career years.
  4. Any ideas as to why kopech isnt at camp?
  5. Well sending positive patients back to nursing homes like cuomo did probably isnt advisable
  6. Or you begin building up a herd immunity to the virus. we’re not getting a vaccine any time soon. It took 10 years to get one for h1n1. We’re better off having healthy people go back to the way things were while at risk populations quarantine. Develop enough immunity and we can slow the spread to vulnerable populations.
  7. Seems excessive considering how unlikely it is for one person to come into contact with the other 8000 and the low death rate and high asymptomatic rates
  8. The sport isnt dying. Its making money hand over fist. This nonsensical idea that you need to implement all these gimmicky rules to “save baseball” are whats turning the game into a joke
  9. I have no problem with the short season. i despise this trial run with all these terrible rule changes. They make my blood boil
  10. Why do the players have any degree of fault? They signed a contract, a guaranteed contract. Their contract doesnt say they only get paid if they play or not, it doesnt say their salary would go up or down based on attendance. Its a contract that they signed in good faith with the owners. the owners are breaching that contract. If they truly cant afford to pay their players salaries because theyre not going to bring in enough revenue this year then they can sell the team. Fuck em.
  11. Youd have to be a fool to think their expenses ate up all that excess. MLB franchises are gaining in value hand over foot. This value is predicated on them making profits. They would not be appreciating at such an insane rate if they were just breaking even every year
  12. Actually, its manfrauds fault. God i hate that utter buffoon
  13. Owners. They signed a contract with the players and are now renegging on it after the players already agreed to concession. They want to spread their losses with the players but wont spread their gains. They come out with these completely unbelievable/incomplete financial figures to try and garner public support and shift blame onto the players.
  14. Easily the worst commish the sport has ever had
  15. Yeah just twist that knife a little more Bryce

  18. So anyone that supports trump is a racist. Do you not see the irony in the close mindedness of your position? its on soxtalk because idiots like yourself seem to want to smear a guy and misrepresent statements he’s made to make him out to be worse than he is. I didn’t start this discussion. I agree discrimination is morally wrong. We’re not debating that. We’re debating whether what schilling has publicly stated amounts to discrimination. I think you have to be completely nuts to come to that conclusion. the only group schilling has arguably promoted violence against was journalists, and even that was him just retweeting an edgy shirt. Not something any sensible person would believe he was truly advocating for. If you think he has advocated for actual violence against any group of people in society, than it should be pretty easy to find a quote of his where he clearly does so.
  19. 1) why is it not ok to cast doubt on unsubstantiated claims? We’re now required to believe every claim of racism at face value? Schilling has a very good point that if something like that happened in Fenway, in the liberal cesspool of Boston, that there would be at least some corroborating witnesses to the claim. 2) I agree that ultimately schillings math probably isn’t accurate (but it isn’t wildly off either), but the actual comparison between the two groups is not off. if ignorant people are scumbags in your mind, then that constitutes almost the entirety of the country.
