Dallas Keuchel signs one year deal with Braves

Keuchel is the poster boy for why the rule about losing a draft pick needs to go -
This is a terrible take. Hawk was so much more entertaining to listen to than Stone and Benetti who half the game are making really dorky lame jokes.

I really miss Hawk

Already hate this ump

John smolts did it in his 30s roy Halliday did it after sucking his first couple years like giolito

Fuck it. I’m betting my tax return on Moncada winning MVP

Two Abreu's would be pretty awesome.

Glad to see Giolito's fastball holding steady through 4 at around 94-95. If he sticks at that velocity, he's going to have a nice bounceback season

Him being a minor blurs the issue for me, and the part where you say that you'd "never plead guilty to something that fucked up", not so sure that holds when you're a 15 year old kid and all the adults in your life are telling you to plead guilty because it would all go away in a couple years. I've got no clue if he did what he was accused of, and I'm not trying to make excuses for it. But I don't think that something you've done as a minor should be held against a person and be used to keep that person from making the most of themselves as an adult. Had he been an adult when the sexual assault was committed then I'd want no part of him on the WSox.

Sullivan: No matter how much $ is spent, it's never enough for fans

Not sure how it makes sense to compare the Cubs and White Sox spending on payroll -
I'd much prefer that than forcing a relieve to throw to 3 batters no matter what when he doesn't have his stuff that day. Managers would have to use closers more efficiently. No more coming in during the 9th when up by 3 runs in order to pad the players save stat. Closers would be used more naturally in high leverage situations.
-
The 3 batter rule is stupid. If the concern is that there are too many pitching changes, make a rule that if you pitch in a game, no matter to how many batters, you can't pitch in the next game. Managers would naturally limit the number of pitching changes to no more than 3-4 a game.

Looks similar to the chophouse at the Braves stadium. It's pretty nice, basically like sitting at a bar with a waiter the whole game.

DH - Thome $4 C - AJ $5 1B - Paulie $4 2B - Iguichi $1 SS - Uribe $2 3B - Crede - $3 LF - Lee $4 CF - Rowand $4 RF - Dye $2 SP - Sale $3 RP - Robertson $1 Fuk the Cubs

Collins is going to end up a platoon catcher. Start him against righties and get a backup that can start the other 40 games of the year against starting left handed pitchers. Rutherford had a very solid season last year.

Verlander made a huge mechanical adjustment after joining the Astros raising his arm slot almost half a foot, which like Giolito after he did the same, resulted in his fastball picking up another 2-3 mph. As for Giolito, there was talk in 2017 about the Sox changing his mechanics, but I see no evidence of it. His 2016 and 2017 video looks very similar. I think all the WSox were working on at that point was trying to get him to develop consistency in his mechanics, which he never did. He finally made some pretty major changes starting around July 2018.

Morrisey - If MLB isn’t careful, it will die by its own boring

I'm actually good with a rule change that a team is limited to 1 pitching change per inning unless there's an injury (and there'd be a requirement that the pitcher go on the DL if he's the second to get pulled that inning). -
There was a guy who just made it into the hall of fame that was downright terrible in the majors until he made a few major mechanical adjustments theres another guy pitching in Houston who looked like his career was coming to a close until he made a few mechanical adjustments and regained a few mph on his fastball. the idea that major league players don’t make mechanical adjustments is completely made up in your mind
