  1. Can someone fill me in on what this supposed three way trade is supposed to entail?
  2. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 01:36 AM) While we are on the topic of video games happenings, I swear, EVERY YEAR of MLB The Show I had ended with Sale on the Red Sox at some point. And I think Abreu always ended up going to like either NY or BOS. And the Sox always ended up with Machado I think, or some INF star. I always had Sale on the Giants for some reason
  3. QUOTE (beautox @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 01:05 AM) That is incredibly light of a return. Quintana has about 128m in surplus value. Bregman even as the #1 top prospect in the game is only worth about 73.5 in surplus value. If Houston doesn't want to include him then tell them to look forward to going out in the first round in October. Top prospect hitters are worth significantly more than their pitching counter parts. Quintana is worth just going by the point of pittsburgh value Bregman - 73.5, Tucker - 38.2, Paulino - 16.5 = 128.2 compare that to say a rockies package of Rodgers - 73.5, Pint - 29.8 & Tapia - 22.4 = 125.7 and you possibly get a throw in as well like Freeland. AJ Reed was the #11 prospect going into 2016 per BA. So that's a $62m value right there based on whatever this pittsburgh value thing is. So a Reed/Tucker/Martes package may be worth more than Quintana based on this silly analysis.
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) I believe so yes I highly doubt Millar has any inside scoops on anything
  5. QUOTE (Real @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) I don't see how the Astros can beat what we got for Eaton without including Bregman, by looking at their minor league player rankings Reed/Martes/Tucker would do it for me personally. I love Reed & Tucker, but I know some here don't
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:15 PM) Yeah, I actually feel good about him. It's Moncada...after reading 9 pages of SoSH I am now convinced he is the next Andy Marte. BoSox fans were all saying he was untouchable in July. Now that he's gone, he's a guaranteed bust in their eyes. I wanted Moncada more than anyone in July. I'm pretty ecstatic over this trade
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 09:54 PM) For Quintana alone, I'd probably accept Giolito, Robles, and Severino I'm jumping all over that trade if I was Hahn
  8. Works for me. Now if we can get Robles in a Q deal along with Severino (who I like a lot more than most because of his defensive ability) we've got the middle of the field covered for the next 5-7 years
  9. I can't stay up any longer. I just know as soon as I pass out the deal will get announced
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 10:51 PM) We all should be. I have beat the "be reasonable" drum, but no three minor leaguers = Sale. This is a promising framework though. Edit: as we all have been, be skeptical of Bowden. I'm thinking long and hard if Boston comes in tomorrow with Moncada/Benintendi/Devers and nothing else.
  11. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 09:43 PM) Asking for both would seem to solve that problem....the 3rd piece after Giolito and Robles has to be 1 of Lopez/Ross/Fedde or the deal isn't good enough in my eyes. Agreed. Then you also need 1 - 3 more depth prospects beyond that
  12. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) Kieboom and Dunning please. Giolito, Robles, Lopez or Fedde, Kieboom, and Soto. I'd take that deal if I was Hahn
  13. Chase HughesVerified account ‏@chasehughesCSN Would be ironic if the White Sox traded Chris Sale to the most Drake LaRoche-friendly team in baseball.
  14. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) Ken RosenthalVerified account ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Sources: Legitimate chance of Sale trade to #Nationals. Robles, Giolito would go to #WhiteSox. Teams haggling over final pieces in deal. In no Turner, I think they need one of Lopez/Fedde, and then 2 more prospects to make that deal fair
  15. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:32 PM) With word of the Mets on the lookout for two late inning relievers, I can't help but wonder what we could get for Robertson and Jones. Rosario is probably a stretch, but maybe Dunn? Just a thought. Cechhini & Dunn. Don't see Rosario being touchable for a reliever.
  16. QUOTE (Donaldo @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) Chris Sale's trade value will never be any higher than it is right now. With his mechanics, I'm amazed that he's made it this far without suffering a major injury. Buy low, SELL HIGH! This type of comment always makes me laugh. Guys come up with supposed perfect mechanics, end up with rotator cuff surgery or tommy john surgery within a few years. Guys come up with wacky mechanics, never get hurt. I don't think anyone has a clue what mechanics lead to more injuries versus less.
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) Per everyone. Takes them out of EE now. Any reason the Yankees aren't in the Sale sweepstakes? I love their farm system.
  18. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 03:01 PM) red sox still looking for a hitter, but i hear they do not plan to take the big plunge and make it EE https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/805130667822563328 Not sure I understand what Boston's strategy is right now. They're very confusing. EE would be a perfect replacement for Papi & they need starting pitching. But all rumors seem to be them not really doing anything this offseason. Bizarre.
  19. Eatons my favorite player on the team, but if the strategy is to rebuild, you have to trade him if a good package of prospects is thrown at you. He'd be in the tail end of his prime by the time we'd be ready to compete again. The amount of control he has isnt a good argument for keeping him, its a good argument for trading him because it increases his trade value
  20. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 01:11 PM) Odor is a below average fielder at 2B...I do not have confidence in him playing 3B defensively. I do not regard Odor as highly as most because he rarely walks which leads to poor on base percentages Without quality defense, I don't see Odor consistently getting on base enough to justify trading for So in other words he's the stereotypical White Sox player
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 07:34 PM) Obama Chance the Rapper ...um...there's...that one guy That's about it for famous fans. Mr. T
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 02:10 AM) Everyone's political leanings aside, this would probably be the best possible thing to happen to the White Sox since 2005. You'd have the superstar owner that could actually draw free agents. Would it draw in free agents who are on the right politically? Let's not forget Obama has been a very divisive president. His involvement with the team could alienate FA's just as much as attract them. Either way, he needs to learn how to actually throw a baseball first before becoming an owner of a team.
  23. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Nov 24, 2016 -> 08:55 PM) I would not blow this thing up. I agree with Mad Dog Chris Russo. The White Siox cannot run away and hide for a few years and think the Cubs are going away. They have to try to compete every year. It is what it is. Here > Chris Russo Best thing the White Sox could do, is to do the complete opposite of whatever that buffoon says to do
