  1. Terrible, if true. At least the hat would hopefully be better, not a fan of the CHI hat.
  2. The issue is the lease is ending, and the current deal is horrible for the state, so they're not going to be too keen on simply extending the team-friendly agreement.
  3. What do you stream with? It's on Roku and Amazon Fire, so maybe just buy one of those devices?
  4. I think this very well could be it. Let's face it, the team is facing 2 more years of ugly, which will be followed by a very ugly 2027 (lockout is pretty much unavoidable). The timing makes sense for the handoff to occur late in 2027, once the financial structure of the game has changed, and then they probably break ground on a new ballpark very shortly after to be ready to open 2030.
  5. None of it matters. All of these percentages are still of shares that JR controls the voting power of. That's how the limited partnership is set up, and it's like that until either JR concedes power or dies.
  6. They have no actual local TV deal, since they're one of the teams Diamond pulled out of. That is a fairly recent development, so might have had some affect once he had a chance to dig into the books. https://www.mlb.com/news/twins-broadcasts-distributed-by-mlb-2025
  7. I disagree, think it's very underrated. Maybe the nicest concourses of the 11 current parks I've been to, very spacious and a great view of the field from anywhere. Very walkable park, fun place to wander around to different areas. Lots of variety in the seating options as well, I really like the home run porch and the covered bleachers in left. And home field advantage barely exists in baseball, if at all.
  8. Which is true in its own right. The Twins are what they are. Great ballpark but zero room for growth. A Gallagher Way type thing was built next to the park and the Twins aren't involved at all (the Cubs' development venture is, however).
  9. If you don't care than stop spamming the thread. You're making an ass of yourself.
  10. Bob has been Reinsdorf's mouthpiece for ages. If he said it, I tend to believe Jerry wanted it out there.
  11. It wouldn't have the 1 team shoehorned near the lake, 20 minutes from the Kennedy either.
  12. He's made it no secret that he wants to own a team, that baseball is his passion. Nothing you're saying makes any bit of sense, knowing what we know about the team ownership stakes he's already been involved in. You think he's building his Winnetka estate to flip it, too? That's what he does for a living, after all.
  13. Boehly is only 1 investor in Guggenheim/Dodgers, he doesn't control anything like he does with Chelsea.
  14. *Justin Mat lives in the Detroit area, in a house that apparently includes a trampoline park 🤣
  15. That's because at the time the Marlins didn't exist and they would've been able to collect TV subscription money from the entire state.
  16. The Ricketts do NOT want to A) Pay tax. B) Commit a lot of dollars past the 2026 CBA expiration.
  17. They're not building another arena, stop with the nonsense. Wintrust is the perfect size for the Sky.
  18. LA was a massive upgrade on St. Louis. No upgrade exists on Chicago. He wants a team here.
  19. Good thing we're not talking about Mat. Justin owns 22% of UWM but his main business is his private equity firm.
  20. A willingness to spend is a lot more valuable in baseball. They've also put a ton of their OWN money towards renovating the arena.
  21. Sucks. Guess he wasn't willing to wait Jerry out, and I don't blame him.
  22. The Fire draw right around the middle of the league despite being complete garbage and Soldier Field being a soulless hell hole for soccer. They'd have no problem drawing to a ~25k capacity in a stadium closer to trains and with stuff to do around it. https://www.worldfootball.net/attendance/usa-major-league-soccer-2024/1/#google_vignette
