  1. I personally don't believe the league has any plans to every actually enforce the cap recapture penalties. They made their statement that what was happening should not be allowed, and that will be that really. Hossa has a long history of back issues, it'll be very easy for him to say "I want to play but physically can't do it anymore" and they'll just put him on LTIR.
  2. Signing Kruger means there's a chance they trade Kane. Funniest thing I've read all week.
  3. Who the hell would root for a 3rd Chicago team? Where are all these people with no affiliate to either of the current 2 coming from? They'd be very lucky to have 5,000 season ticket holders. And what TV network would be willing to make the initial investment of say $450,000 per game like the Sox and Cubs get from CSN to air these guys? Anyway, Montreal will happen...I think Bell will own the team as TSN needs content. Makes too much sense for Canada to have a 2nd team for their 2nd media power to control. Charlotte probably isn't happening, the city just spent millions giving the Knights a new home. I think Portland may be the front runner for #32
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 01:32 PM) Doesn't matter. Think of this as closer to an all-star game than a Hawks Blues game. If you think this tournament is going to resemble an ASG, then I have a bridge in China to sell you. The players will want to win this thing.
  5. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 11:57 AM) Wow, Cleveland is hurting. The rest of the ALC is lucky that Indians fans aren't going to ball games (29th in attendance in 2015) or Cleveland would have an even better team than they currently do. And I though things were bad for the Sox... More like because they play in Cleveland and have a weak TV deal. It's not a gate driven league anymore.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) It isn't the same at NHL play though. The game is a TON less physical. There is little to no real hitting. You realize these games will be played on NHL rinks, not International size, right? International play is less physical because of the extra 15 feet on the sides.
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 11:30 AM) People do know that there are already tickets on stubhub, right? I don't get your point. Buying direct is a bit cheaper. A UD corner pair for the opener comes out to $72.40 after fees. On Stubhub, the cheapest pair is $79.56, and it's 10 rows worse.
