QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 07:34 PM) Another hard hit ball from Avi he could be 4-4 with 2 double and a HR. He's having a nice week. -
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) I'm going to miss Hawk complementing all the other teams' players. He always loved the good players/managers/coaches/GMs on the other teams often more than our guys. He is just a fan of good baseball and I think that fact often gets lost. Sure he rooted for the Sox, but good baseball from either team excited him the most. I agree. For an announcer who is supposedly too much of a fan, he gives a ton of credit where credit is due.

I wouldn't give Frazier anything more than a five-year deal. And he'd probably be a 1B or DH in the last year or so of that contract.

QUOTE (lsufan52224 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 08:53 PM) Imagine our fan base if Garcia did the same thing Tulo did They can't hate him anymore than they already do, so it wouldn't change much.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:42 PM) asked him about his throw to nail the guy at 3rd and he was like "jimmy was hollering for me to hit the cut but I was going with the flow of the game and managed to throw him out". Didn't throw rollins under the bus or anything obviously but the way he said it just kinda seemed they weren't best of pals. But, does not f***ing matter, keep on winning! From what we saw in ST, it didn't look like those two were the best of friends. Still, some discretion is allowed in situations like that and I don't think that Eaton was throwing Rollins under the bus there. -
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:40 PM) I thought we were going to lose 8-2 after the third inning. Hell of a comeback! We would've last year. Thankfully, this team is quite a bit different than that crew.

I never imagined that the Sox would be 14-6 right now. Freaking sweet...

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) How dumb and unaware can Tulo be? To be fair, the ball looked like it ricocheted at an odd angle. No wonder the players hate that turf.

Note quite Juan Uribe, but I appreciate Frazier's effort. -

Sucks for us, but that 2-2 pitch was off the plate. -

That insurance run was key. The middle of this lineup is a lumber company. -

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) David Robertson is a better reliever than Matt Albers Yeah, in the sense that Ruth was better than Gehrig. -

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) Imagine if this team adds another legit bat? Wow. Yep. They're not terrible (offensively) as is, and will probably have Top 5 or so pitching at the end of the season. -

Despite the cruddy feed I'm currently experiencing, this team is fun to watch. -

QUOTE (reiks12 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) do you have adblock on? I don't think so. I haven't installed any ad-blockers. I'm on the current version of iOS and am using Comcast's "Blast" internet (up to 150 MBPs... typically about 75). -

God, MLB.TV's feed sucks. If Netflix had this much pixelation, they would've been out of business years ago. -

That is a crazy-fast infield. -
I like Benetti. He's a better play-by-play guy than Hawk in the technical sense, and has a better sense of humor. But he doesn't have Hawk's passion for the Sox (then again nobody does). My ideal Sox play-by-play guy would be the 1990s version of Hawk. But since that guy is gone and never coming back, I welcome Jason.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 05:14 PM) If nothing else, the fact that Obama is trying to normalize the relationship with Cuba should help guys like Jose that are just trying to do right by their family and play the game at the highest level they can. It's not fair to the Cuban players and Cuban people to have to suffer because or their non democratically elected governmental. The smugglers aren't "bad" but they are un-necessary in a world where the US and Cuba have a normal relationship. It's not going to help. Cubans are going to live under tyranny until the Castros are gone. -
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 04:56 PM) The way Stoney talks about JB makes it completely clear that he barely puts up with working with Hawk and is thrilled Hawk is on the way out. Didn't Stoney sign a contract extension with the Sox a few years back? That doesn't give one the impression that he hates Hawk's guts (or, at least he didn't back then).
-
Sone and Hawk both has large egos, and I'm pleasantly surprised that both have co-existed peacefully in the booth for as long as they have.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) I wouldn't rely on May taking over in center to start 2017. I'm not convinced at this point. Engel in the same boat. It's possible one is ready by then, but I'd go under 50/50 for that to be the case. Anderson and Fulmer have risk too, as any prospect does, but I think there chances are good enough to consider them a Plan A for now. I wouldn't say that for May. I agree with this. It's OK for a competitive team to have one young, developing player in the lineup. If the Sox go into next season with more than that, they're asking for problems. Even the better young hitters need to face a couple seasons worth of ML pitching to reach their potential. Also, the Sox are not a magnet for free agents right now, which makes things even more difficult.
