  1. That's right, he's a DH, not an OF. Glad Rogers got that correct. I wish the best for Eloy but man, he's got a body made of glass and I just think the injury bug will prove to be too much for him.
  2. 9 straight losses. Why did I choose to be a fan of and care only about the 2 worst teams in professional sports.
  3. They should've taken Wintrust offer. I think Wintrust was going to make it Wintrust Field at Comiskey Park or something like that. I'd be fine calling it Wintrust. This is just dumb
  4. Robert would look good in a Yankees uni. And...IF he is healthy, I bet would have a monster season with the protection in that lineup.
  5. This league is definitely heading for a lockout.
  6. If I was a team potentially wanting Robert I'd be looking at him holistically. 1 great season. The rest, eh. And mostly due to injury. Moncada, while obviously a completely different player, also had one great season. The rest, eh, filled with injuries. No one's chomping at the bit for him in free agency. I hope Robert proves me wrong but history tells me he's likely missing at least 50-60 games and when he's playing he can't play up to his abilities because of a nagging injury affecting him. That's probably what most gm's are thinking.
  7. Absolutely. The only thing Robert has proven is that he's injury prone. I don't think teams will meet the asking price, and Getz might be better off taking his chances on Robert having a great 1st half and trading him at the deadline.
  8. You're right in that the more the Sox lose over time, the worse it is. But it's nice to get excited about something new. And I don't think the fanbase is that small, it just doesn't go to games when the team's losing. For me, I had to emotionally detach myself the last 2 seasons. I still listened to Chuck and the SoxMachine guys on their podcasts and stayed connected here, but I didn't watch any games past May in 2023 and I stopped after probably 3 weeks this season. Gotta find joy in something else if the team you know and love just isn't doing it for you, especially if it's "horrific" as you say. You don't have to completely strip yourself of your fandom, but taking a break, even if for a few years, isn't a bad idea. Probably healthy actually. I'm looking forward to watching more games than normal in 2025 to see what these kids, and Venebal, can do.
  9. Why would Quintana come here when any contender could use him in their rotation as a solid 4th or 5th. I mean, plenty of contenders need pitching.
  10. Imagine...just imagine...the Sox are in contention come July because all the players are playing so hard trying to get traded to other teams. Like, hovering around 500. That would be hilarious. Obviously it won't happen but...fun to ponder.
  11. Only one that really has panned out is ReyLo. I guess the book is still out on Kopech and Robert. What a joke Carson Fulmer and Collins turned out to be. I don't think Rutherford ever made it to the bigs. EDIT: Rutherford played for Washington in 2023 for 35 AB's. Numbers not pretty.
  12. Of course there are success stories. The Griffey's, Fielder's, Molina bros. It just doesn't happen with the Sox lol.
  13. All of Manny Machado's relatives. We could do this all day.
  14. Dang, this sucks. I grew up watching him on pre and post. He's a part of my childhood in a way. RIP Beltin Bill Melton.
  15. Unfortunately, Zack Wheeler was in the 10%
  16. I mean, of course he would say that he wants to be the starting ss for the mlb team. He should say that. Doesn't mean he should get it though. I know spring numbers don't mean much but if he has a great spring I wouldn't mind him breaking with the team. Idk that I would dub him the regular starter though. I'd rather they sign an experienced veteran that he can split time with and learn from throughout the season.
  17. I have no idea. I also said contending, not great. Contending could literally mean any team that is projected to be a few games over .500.
  18. Just think, if we improve just 1 game each season over the next 120 years, we'll be 162-0.
  19. I just don't think Abreu would want to be on another losing team, he did that with the Sox already. He made his fortune, unless he just desperately wants to play and will do that with anyone who gives him a chance, but you'd think he would go to a contender if he had the option.
