That's actually one thing I'm kind of disappointed about. I was looking forward to both teams being competitive and I was excited for some storybook crosstown games. But if only one team can be good, I'm glad it's our Sox.
Agreed. I don't think this trade happens had he not been injured. Maybe a blessing in disguise. If the Sox win it this year and Kimbrel was a big reason why...then the trade will have been worth it. Even if Madrigal turns into one of the top 2B in the league.
He literally has zero SB this year and last lol.
But, I agree, he is an upgrade. I love the defense aspect, but this team needs run scoring right now, and he should provide that for us.
Then you are going to spend much of your life disappointed. You can use what you learned through the process of trying to reach that goal toward another goal. It doesn't have to be wasted.
I went to the game on Saturday. Did anyone else have the worst experience ever getting into the park? My wife and I arrived a little under an hour before first pitch, took them about 45 minutes to park us, then another half hour actually getting in because either they didn't have enough gates or they only had a few open. Line to get through the gate wrapped a quarter way around the park (and I'm not exagerating). We didn't sit down until the bottom of the 2nd inning.
