This is baaad for Detroit long term. Like Stone said Boyd could've been a big trade chip for them at the deadline. And he was the "ace" of that staff. That sucks.
-
What about the guy from the UK? Bazox I think?
-
Grandal's contract is probably the reason why this team didn't pursue any big name free agents in the offseason. The criticism has not gotten out of hand. He is our shiny expensive toy...and this toy has a no-refund policy. It better start working eventually...
-
Well, maybe it's because he (the player, not the person ) FUCKING DESERVES IT.

People were saying the same thing about La Russa when he was hired. They say the same thing about Jerry Reinsdorf. Some people just have zero compassion. I think they should be given one warning (this thread probably suffices) and then if they do it again, banned for life. Get that shit out of here.

Unfortunately people don't know how to think before they press "enter." Sitting behind a computer screen especially...just not the same is in person. Hell, I'm not even sure if that would do anything. I heard that someone was mocking Kopech in person while he was warming up in the bullpen...saying some shit about his wife and his relational problems? Like what? Way to be a class-A asshole. Hope it wasn't Sox fans, but the way some people post on here...wouldn't put it past them.

Yeah idk what Benetti was saying with him being unlucky...he's not unlucky he hits the damn ball into the shift all the time.

He can join Eloy Jimenez in the Iowa corn.

Why did he even slide?

Ughhhhhhhh WHYYYYYY

Thanks so much! Great info! Yeah, we had planned this trip a few months ago, and I hadn't planned on the trial happening...but it is what it is. We are only able to hit up one game while we are in town. We're doing a ballpark trip and will be hitting up STL and CIN as well. That is excellent info though and will hit you up if I have any other questions. Thanks again!!

Haven't been, heard good things about it. Thanks!! Any suggestions in particular I should check out at the park if I can? Or the surrounding area in Minneapolis?
-
Have you been to Target Field this year? I plan on going in May when they play the Sox. If you have, what has it been like?
-
The other day I was curious as to how much longer he is signed with them. So I looked it up. I thought maybe he'd be done after this season or next. He's with them through 2024 lol! He'll be 42 when the contract is up.

Your arguments are making zero sense
-
That's a straw man argument. Lmao people will not be asking for robot batters and fielders to replace humans (although...that would be pretty cool to see as a project of sorts). Baseball is so behind the times when compared to other sports in terms of technological advancements on the field (although, they are starting to get better). People don't want replay for instant gratification, that has nothing to do with it (some of these replays do take longer than they should...but that's one of the "kinks" that should be worked out over time). It's about getting the call RIGHT. Why is this even an argument? Why do people defend making wrong calls?
-
And it's ludicrous. Robo umps will not ruin the game as some have suggested. We don't watch the game for umpires, and the only time we talk about umps are when they fuck up. As Stone and Hawk always said, you know you have a good umpire when you don't have to talk about them. And another poster said, yeah but the umpires suck for every team. Well shouldn't something be done about it then?? I'm glad they are testing it in the minors. Can't get here soon enough. I'm sure there will be kinks to work out, much like replay (which people said would also ruin the game), but it will be worth it.

The Chicago White Sox have the best run differential in the American League at +21 (Boston right behind them at +20). They are second in all of MLB behind the Dodgers at +32. Sox keep this up, they will be just fine.

I think the players work way too hard to have the outcome of a play, and sometimes even the game, be left in the hands of someone/something they have absolutely zero control over. It It doesn't just happen once a week, this is happening multiple times a game. I understand it when people say "that's the nature of the game; that's life; etc." But life also changes. We adjust things to make life better. We have the capabilities with technology to get the balls and strikes call right 100% of the time, and there is no reason it shouldn't be. If they still want a person behind the plate for more dramatic effect with the calls behind the plate, maybe equip the hp umpire with something that looks like VR goggles, which shows him the strikezone virtually (much like we have on our tv screens, but probably a lot more advanced), and they can make the call based on the result on the goggles. Something like that...

The entire season has been.

Len Kasper is...boring imo. Doesn't really keep the conversation going with Stone.

Why did he say he isn't on the right team?

Time for an Ozzie/Cora off-day defensive camp
Ducksnort replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If this continues i think you might need to swallow the pride and seriously think about bringing in Collins as a defensive replacement in late innings.
