  1. Compassion is the correct response in these events. Not accusatory anger.
  2. Today's the day, the sun is shining. The tank is clean...THE TANK IS CLEAN!!!
  3. What? I thought the Sox had good ratings in 2020?
  4. I wonder why NBC Sports Chicago didn't pick up more games to televise...you'd think there would be a lot more interest in the spring training games than whatever else they have on at 2 pm central time on any day of the week. EDIT: I'm sure most of the games where we don't have whitesox broadcasting access, we'll probably have access to the other team's broadcast (for MLB.TV subscribers)
  5. I wish it too, especially with me being on the eastern time zone
  6. I like this part of it. Now we don't have to deal with games starting super late in like August. Just get it over with. Plus the benefit of the weather will be beautiful and pretty much gauranteed no postponements for at least the first week while they're out west.
  7. https://www.mlb.com/news/2021-regular-season-schedule-announced Sox getting some national recognition right off the bat. Opening Day game against the Angels will be on ESPN. The first Sunday Night Baseball game will be the Sox and Angels as well. And then obviously the Field of Dreams game against the Yanks. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Sox get added to more national games as the season progresses, given they remain competitive.
  8. Whatever Hector Gomez says is what I will believe. Until he announces it I'm not buying it!
  9. Well, I actually received a link from my employer to sign up. I'm only 26 but I work for an organization that serves one of the most vulnerable populations...the elderly. The link provided time slots for the local county health department, which I had to quickly sign up for to reserve an appointment. I get my second shot in exactly a month (I received Phizer). They set up the 2nd appointment for me while I was there. For someone who doesn't work in an organization like me or isn't a first-responder, they have it opened to those who are 65 and older now. I'm pretty sure all they need to do is be registered with the health department, and someone from the department either calls or emails people to get the appointments set up.
  10. Don't let it. It's bullshit. Plain and simple. We know what this team is capable of.
  11. Man that sucks. Our process was very smooth and organized. Signs posted so we knew where to park. People guiding you inside so you knew where to go and what to do. I was in and out in under an hour.
  12. I got mine today. Woohoo! In the county I live in in Michigan, they said they're vaccinating about 700 people a day now. At just that one clinic.
  13. Annnnddd it probably doesn't help when your significant other is famous. Not saying it can't be done...and like you say hopefully he's matured, but his track record isn't the best in this area.
  14. Or it could be a huge distraction. His personal life should always come before baseball, so good for him, and for his child. Just hope this doesn't become a huge drama thing and ruins his game. Hope they are able to make it work now.
  15. 7 inning double headers--yay No Universal DH--Boo Runner starting on 2B in 10th inning--BOOOO, but we knew it was coming. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be last year. But I still don't like it.
  16. Say By Fall we need new vaccines (I seriously doubt we will, as they've said the vaccine has been effective against most variants). They shut everything down again. Then what? More strain variants? More vaccines? You can't do this forever. Also, enough people will feel safe. Not everyone has to. I think the combination of this being the best team in decades, and people wanting to go out and see live sporting events...I think tickets will sell out with the capacity limits tbh
  17. Now that's funny. Maybe he's secretly Manny Machado's cousin too
