  1. I get that his market is pretty much only half the league, but I still don't understand how there aren't more teams that make a lot of sense other than Texas, Seattle and the Sox. Wasn't this like one of the worst years for DHs in the history of the league?
  2. I swear, all of the highlights I've ever seen of Fernando Rodney are of him blowing a game.
  3. So apparently, just learned from the telecast that Urquiddy had a tryout for the Sox...funnt because when I thought to myself that Urquiddy seems like a White Sox guy.
  4. Kind of an unrelated question, and maybe this is just me being naive, but I always wondered how sites like Stub Hub and SeatGeek were able to legally operate. Wouldn't the teams or performers LOSE money from people buying from 3rd party ticket sellers? I don't go to many games per year because of where I live, so I usually buy my tickets online through seatgeek since they tend to have the best deals in my opinion, but I always wondered...my money is going to the person who originally bought the tickets, not to the White Sox. I never buy directly from the Sox site/Ticketmaster since the 3rd parties have such better deals.
  5. Read he died from a blood clot during knee surgery. Wow.
  6. Not sure if anyone else is watching this, but a pretty horribly announced game so far.
  7. As it stands now, it's not strong 1-9. They still need to find a DH and a RF, and who knows how Robert will fare when he arrives. He could struggle out of the gate. Same with Madrigal.
  8. Wonder if this means Girardi won't be signing with the Cubs
  9. My sentiments exactly. I live near Grand Rapids, MI and they have an arena in the city. A WWE event was being held there the other day and I was like...that's still a thing??
  10. If Stony left, I would LOVE to have AJ in the booth. He would be more of a homer than Hawk though lol
  11. I don't understand. Anyone who listens to Stone knows he is extremely knowledgeable of the game, and is just a very wise person in general. What if Reinsdorf really has done so much for so many people that never gets publicized and now one false claim is put out there against him and it blows up, and now this is what everyone thinks of him? What if Stone is just defending the truth? I would commend anyone for doing that. Hell, the people that work for Jerry are the ones that know him the best, which happen to be the Sox employees. Who the hell else is going to speak against these comments? Hope Stony stays in the booth. I know he's getting older, but I have a lot of respect for him.
  12. I'm already starting the petition for Bill Walton. We're going to hit all of our balls over the moon and through the stratosphere.
  13. Say what you want about Nova, hes got some nasty movement on his stuff today
  14. He actually had decent stuff and pitched a scoreless inning.
  15. The pitching injuries just keep piling up
  16. Insane that Bellinger was taken that low in the draft
  17. There goes whatever value anyone thought he might have.
  18. Story of Fulmers career. Fantastic stuff, cant control it. Fulmer is a victim of the times when the Sox rushed the prospects through the system and didn't develop them properly.
  19. And hopefully next year with a little more reason to be optimistic ?
  20. These cubs announcers are boring. At least Stone and Benetti have dialogue that leads somewhere.
  21. Padres just fired their manager. Here is their official statement: "I want to thank Andy for his tireless work and dedication to the Padres over the last four seasons," Preller said in the statement. "This was an incredibly difficult decision, but one we felt was necessary at this time to take our organization to the next level and expedite the process of bringing a championship to San Diego. Our search for a new manager will begin immediately." I wonder if the Sox will eventually do the same.
  22. https://www.mlb.com/news/major-league-baseball-tests-robot-umpires-arizona-fall-league Interesting take: “It kind of changes the whole game,” said Royce Lewis, who is ranked the Twins' No. 1 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. “It’s still tough, but anyone can catch it back there with electronic. I’d rather have the guys that are working hard and framing and building an element of their game to better themselves." Also this: “There have been some pitches where our catcher will make a comment to the umpire like, ‘I think that was a strike’ and even the umpire will agree,” Rockies prospect Ashton Goudeau, who fired three perfect innings on Thursday, said. “It’s definitely different to see what the umpire thinks is a strike and what actually is a strike.” Finally this: While there are certainly some bugs to iron out, overall the goal is to make the strike zone more consistent, and that’s ultimately something everyone seems to agree on. “It’s very fair,” Goudeau said. “It’s fair for both sides, it’s very consistent. … It’s definitely been consistent. That’s what everyone’s been talking about.” Ho man I hope this is implemented in the next decade. Baseball needs this so badly.
