  1. I grew up in Waukegan going to Sox games as a kid, and I will vouch for basically what everyone was saying. Take the Metra to Ogilvie (which is the last stop). I'm sure your son knows this, but there is a train station in both North Chicago and Waukegan. You'll want to purchase the weekend pass if you go on Saturday, as that is $10 a person and unlimited rides (which basically pays for you both ways). You will need cash. It is a bit of a walk to get to the red line, but it's not bad. About 15 minutes. What you do is once you get to Ogilvie, take the escalators down, then go out of the building through the exit by the Subway restaurant (which is behind the escalators I believe). That will take you out to Washington Street. Turn right onto Washington and walk all the way down to State. State street is where the closest Red Line Subway ("L") is. Once you get on the train, pay Attention to the actual Red Line stop, because the name of the stop isn't "State St." stop, it's "Lake" I believe. That way you remember which one to get off at when you come back. It will make sense once you get on the train. Take the Red Line to "Sox 35th" which is toward 95th/Dan Ryan. That will dump you right out at the park. When you're finished you just back track to Ogilvie. Here is the link to the Metra Schedule https://metrarail.com/maps-schedules/train-lines/UP-N The Red Line comes and goes like every 10 minutes. That one you can use your credit/debit card for. Or cash if you prefer. That's what I did all the time as a kid with my dad, and in fact I am doing it again this weekend on Saturday! Although I am getting on at Lake Forest. Maybe our paths will cross You can also just Uber or Lyft over to the park from Ogilvie like the other poster said. Probably not too much more expensive than the trains, maybe even less so, but less of an adventure Hope this helps. Have fun!!
  2. They still scored 7 runs last night, would've been 10 if not for Engel.
  3. ReyLo dominating an elite lineup. I can't wait to see the fire he brings both competitively and emotionally when this team is contending for the postseason/championship.
  4. Holy...Engel. He literally has saved 4 runs in 2 nights with 2 outstanding catches.
  5. Moncada...bro...SWING THE BAT. What else could he possibly be looking for? Literally right down the middle and had like no movement.
  6. The question is...is Engel on the team next year? No one at center really waiting in the wings, and Leury is always out half the season to bank on him. Maybe they give Cordell a shot. Too bad they don't have designated fielders.....
  7. That's kind of what I'm thinking will happen. Getz said very soon... Sometimes I wish these people would say nothing at all.
  8. I understand that. That's basically what everyone else is saying just in a different way. And I agree. Call him up this week or don't at all. Kind of aggravated they called up LaMarre and he's playing LEFT FIELD tonight. But... It seems like if he is called up in, idk, 3 weeks, everyone is going to be angry and beside themselves. Even if I wouldn't necessarily agree with it, I would wholeheartedly enjoy the short moments I get to see him play in Chicago this year.
  9. So is everyone going to be pissed off if Eloy gets the call this week? I understand the argument and everything, and I'm of the opinion if they are calling him up this year then what the hell are they waiting for, but it just seems like there will be absolutely no excitement if he gets the call. Kind of depressing to be honest.
  10. Kopech getting the call after this start. Starts against Cleveland either on Friday or Saturday for Jim Thome Day (which I will be attending). Bet.
  11. Nibble nibble nibble... Falling behind in the count is gonna cost him.
  12. Ricky makes a million pitching changes when he doesn't necessarily need to...RIGHT NOW WOULD BE A NECESSARY TIME TO DO A PITCHING CHANGE.
  13. Santiago throwing everything on the outside part of the plate. Very predictable right now.
  14. Only 2 more months of Santiago and Shields. Just 2 more.
  15. Yeah he says that. Palka seems to hit his homeruns in big situations to give the Sox the lead
  16. And those 4 strikeouts are immediately forgotten about. Idk who is more interesting...Palka or Eloy. (Jk, of course)
  17. Engel has infinity lives. That being said, Leury and Avi are like glass houses. Take the good with the bad with them I suppose.
  18. Avisail Garcia is the PERFECT example of why we need to be patient with players such as Anderson and Moncada. Development takes multiple seasons.
  19. I'm guessing Ricky makes 7 pitching changes today.
  20. What's ironic is there is currently a thread on the board on the White Sox having the top 3rd farm system in baseball behind SD and ATL (who have been rebuilding far longer than the Sox have). The front office has done a fine job of acknowledging the team needed a facelift, a fresh start, and acting upon it and doing the best they could with the resources they had/have. Think about it, we traded Quintana just over a year ago, for 2 players who are looking to be elite in Cease and Eloy. One of them looks to be up this year in Eloy, and expects to almost.mirror Bryant in offensive numbers with what he is doing in AAA. Cease could very well be in the rotation mid next season barring any injuries. Quintana wasn't going to help this team win anything anytime soon. That's just the most recent one. People are just pissed off at all the losing right now. Patience is a rare virtue.
  21. Huh, that's odd. For some reason I always thought it was more middle of the season. Well, thanks anyway!!
