  1. Thank you for this insightful commentary. Definitely helps me understand the situation and the complexities of owning a TV station. What do you think these teams will do then after this year?
  2. https://670thescore.radio.com/blogs/bruce-levine/chicago-set-changes-sports-television-climate Actually not really sure if this is news or not, as we all knew a new TV Deal was coming, but looks like no more free Chicago Sports Broadcasts as of Fall 2019 with WGN out. Would the Sox (Jerry) still make a deal with NBC Sports Chicago? Or go some other route? Seems like the best way would be to go with good old channel 37 for maximum viewer ratings. Having their own station seems too farfetched.
  3. This would probably make the most sense. His numbers definitely didn't warrant the promotion. ERA over 6 in 65 innings pitched.
  4. Wow Smith better hit a granny after all of these foul balls.
  5. Wow completely different pitcher 2nd inning. Threw strikes and limited number if pitches. Looks to not have the release point on that curve quite yet.
  6. He's too old to be a prospect, but I'm not sure he's ever had this much sustained success at this high of a level before.
  7. I mean, I know he's not really committed anymore and he's almost 80 but still...kind of unprofessional no?
  8. Literally the first Sunday game I've been able to watch, wanting to hear Hawk call the end...and he's like nowhere to be found
  9. Does every single important rebuild piece have to get injured at some point or another?
  10. I've noticed the same. I follow the game threads from time to time but largely I avoid following them let alone commenting when they lose because it's almost like many people feel like it's the end of the world when they lose...I follow the minor league threads more than the major league ones lol.
  11. No. Look at this bullpen. It isn't built to succeed. It's built to eat innings.
  12. So...they overshifted Davis over to 3B side but constantly pitched him outside away from the shift...why the hell wouldn't you just have a normal double play shift? That would've sacrificed just one run and would've had 2 outs. I just don't understand the over shifting.
  13. These minor league games were interesting before, but now with the promotions, they are so much more exciting to follow. And Joel Booker coming out of nowhere!!!
  14. Yeah Tim shouldn't have been laughing, but his comments show me he gets it. "In a couple years, we will be kicking peoples' butts. Right now, we are getting our butts kicked." That shows me he understands the rebuilding process and how it's working, and hopefully the other players do too. I just hope, as we all do, that in a couple years if this kind of play is happening, Tim shows a little more frustration. This doesn't bother me though.

    Avi

I heard on the Sox Machine Podcast that the dude is 3 for 58 at home this year. He is literally almost an automatic out. Like the literal definition.
  16. I was wondering why the infield was in before he hit that ball...then that happens. It's like prophecy. Renteria is having a bad series
  17. Do you really think this team is going to compete this year? Like, really, deep down in your heart, in the deepest recesses of your mind, do you think they will compete? Even if Joe Girardi or Joe Maddon or whomever is managing?
  18. Hopefully Rodon doesn't get bit in the ass for loading the bases on 2 walks and a hbp
