  1. Maybe he isn't a major leaguer because he hasn't been given the chance to develop at the minor league level like most prospects should be. On that note, if they had a normal double play shift with the second baseman playing more up the middle, that's an easy dp. I hate player shifts sometimes.
  2. It's hard with Fulmer because he'll have like 3 or 4 real bad games, like he lasts 2 innings, then he'll have 1 or 2 good games and that actually kind of pisses me off because it feels like it gives the front office/coaching staff "justified" reason to keep throwing him out there. He just isn't a starting pitcher.
  3. If it was up to me he would be up here tomorrow. But if you go by the rhetoric and pattern of this front office, they will probably keep him there for a couple months, unless he does to AAA for like a month striaght what he is doing to AA, or better. Again, he needs to exceed the expectations of the club at each level. Until he does that, he isn't getting called up. So who knows. But if I were betting, September is my call.
  4. I doubt Eloy will be up that soon. He'll probably see Charlotte sometime in early-mid June when Robert returns and heads to the Dash. I bet they keep Eloy in Charlotte until the September call-ups.
  5. This needs to be made into a separate thread all on it's own
  6. Same shit different day. This, folks, apparently is what a 2nd year rebuilding last place record breaking losing team looks like.
  7. I literally was wondering if it was a sarcastic joke or not. Not really up to date with how American League second baseman are doing these days. To be honest, kind of surprised Moncada is top 4 in the league, not that he is bad, but still.
  8. I mean, there is still 2 months plus to go, but ReyLo would probably be the one guy that gets in. If what the poster Jose Abreu said is true about there being 3 second baseman, I could see Moncada getting in.
  9. This definitely does put things into perspective, especially seeing what that Cubs roster was like in 2012. However, the Sox are going to have to hit big on free agents, and most of these prospects will need to be elite. The only sure-fire championship caliber players in this organization right now are Abreu, Moncada and possibly Eloy. The rest are all high ceiling potential championship contributors. I look highly on Cease, Dunning (who I think will be the ace of the staff) and obviously Kopech. The rest is all up in the air. Robert is supposed to be our star centerfielder...dude hasn't even played a minor league game yet. I don't think it is wrong to be fully for this rebuild, but I don't think it's wrong to be skeptical either.
  10. Went to the game yesterday. What a different team that was. The best part about yesterday was witnessing a dominating Gio performance, minus the walks, and Davidson going yard. Also loved the double switch with Leury and he makes a great play in right then drives in a run right away. Nice to see a Sox win at Wrigley. Also my wife's first game where the Sox win. Great day all around.
  11. Worst start in franchise history. I am officially a Birmingham Barons fan lol. But seriously. I am as pro-rebuild as anyone. But worst start in the over 100 year franchise history? After hearing many of the players say they were going to surprise people this year, Ricky telling us he is preaching fundamentals, all of the chemistry, the injuries...no one expected this. Even those who expected the team to lose...no one expected this piss-poor day in day out "entertainment."
  12. Jones not good under pressure as a closer
  13. As Hawk always said, rule #1 is catch the ball. Defense is a pitcher's best friend and it wins ballgames. Great inning there. Let's hope Lopez can continue to dominate...he was a little more vulnerable that inning, and his downfall has always been he starts to become very vulnerable around the 5th and 6th innings. His low pitch count is a really good sign though.
  14. Not sure if you saw yesterday's game but...
  15. Anyone find out a consensus on Eloy? Did they just take him out because they were up big, or is he really hurt?
  16. Man I hope this is his last bout of injuries and he can finally kick off his career.
  17. I know. I just want it soooooo bad. I would love to see his debut when I go to see them play on Sunday.
  18. SO many injuries...like it's unreal. Robert, Jimenez, Hansen, Avi, Moncada, Abreu got sick, Farquhar, Rodon, Castillo, Burger (dude got injured while he was injured), now Delmonico. Who am I missing? I know I'm missing someone.
  19. Eloy Call-up??? Just kidding. Actually, only like 3/4 kidding. Part of me hopes lol.
  20. I'm not super familiar with how the rule works, but I imagine that would only be in effect if the runner was attempting to advance. Delmonico was just rounding first and was very likely to not have attempted to advance to 2nd, and the ball wasn't going in Delmonico's direction either...it was toward Abreu's at 3rd.
