  1. Just at the point where you expect the strikeout. Seems like the pitchers the Sox are facing keep making the right pitches when they need to. Even if the Sox are "threatening" still seems like they are the ones with their backs on the walls.
  2. Gotcha, thanks everyone. It just seems like it's our luck that Burger Eloy and Hansen are all out right now. Hopefully not a bad omen
  3. Anyone have any updates on Eloy/Hansen? I can't find any threads on them here or in future Sox
  4. That double by Moncada is probably the best hit ball we've seen since Toronto
  5. Are we really going to lose to a 1-8 team.
  6. Nice couple plays out there by that there Sox left fielder
  7. So that slide into the wall from the Ray's right fielder reminds me of that player who ran into the electrical box last year. Does anyone know the outcome of that lawsuit?
  8. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 02:52 PM) in this weather someone is likely to snap a hamstring, hopefully he's well warmed up. True, I guess as meaningless as this game is it doesn't really matter.
  9. Would love to see Moncada steal here
  10. What do you think runs through the players' heads when they see there is like absolutely zero fan support at the park
  11. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 01:55 PM) Anybody know how I can watch the game online at the office? My U-verse wont stream WGN. Does their app provide live TV broadcast? I also use Reddit mlb streams. I live in Michigan so I use MLB.tv, but it's blacked out when they play Detroit so I default to the Reddit streams then. You'll want good internet connection. Quality might not be the greatest but passable mostly.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 06:33 PM) 11,131 gives a pretty good idea of the season ticket base...if some could estimate actual fannies in the seats today. http://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance We will still be ahead of Pitt, Miami and Oakland...but will also be interesting to see if we go below 10k against Rays in dreaded April weekday games. And of course the Sox go to Minnesota next weekend, when it's supposed to be near 70 in Chicago...
  13. What an embarrassing offensive performance. Great start to opening weekend.
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 04:36 PM) We let up 2 hits and 0 earned runs and we are going to lose Yet we score 7 runs in the first game of the series and lose. Baseball is a strange strange game.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 04:20 PM) I don't think Welington can be trusted to bunt. And Delmonico and Engel can't even be compared as hitters, to your last point. Well all he's done is hit 3 ground balls, one for a double play, could be 2 but I don't remember. Not like any liners are being hit. Nothing is going over the wall today. Why not give it a shot. And they can be compared as hitters, you can compare anything you want. But I see your point...
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 04:15 PM) Welington looks like complete crap in the cold. Also was a blunder not putting Engel in to run. Can't play for the homer in these conditions Yeah, wanted Engel in there running for Delmonico too with the way they are not hitting. Steal second. Bunt him.over to 3rd. Sac fly or sac bunt him in. Tied game. Not like Delmonico is much of an upgrade in the lineup.
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 04:03 PM) We look so bad. Seems like the last 16 innings we haven't given a s*** and don't want to play baseball The Sox are giving the fans great reasons to fill the seats in the next homestand.
  18. QUOTE (Richie @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 03:49 PM) Going back and forth between this and the Indians game this last inning. That game is a carbon copy of this. Nothing going offensively. Jason Hammel looks like Pedro over there... Also heard them say Ramirez is 2 for 23 to start the year and Lindor is without an extra base hit. Brantley hit a ball to left that the announcers yelled about off the bat like it was gone. The left field started back hard, but then just camped. Ball is dying and nothing is getting going offensively in this weather. Weird. How did the Sox score 14 runs with multiple homers on opening day in KC then? Was pretty cold that day too.
  19. How the hell are they not hitting 87 mph straight fastballs? It's not like this dude has amazing offspeed pitches. He's got a little on his 2 seamer/sinker but we should have AT LEAST 5 runs right now. I get this is development but this is pretty embarrassing.
  20. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 03:30 PM) Not going to make much of a difference if they continue to make Fiers look like Pedro Martinez True true. This is starting to look like 2013 offense. Kind of pathetic to watch.
  21. Davidson seems to have fixed one problem...he's not swinging at s*** pitches anymore like he was. Laying off some tough pitches. BUT seems to still be swinging through a lot of hittable pitches as well.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 02:59 PM) Renteria wanted Anderson in the bottom third of the lineup so Tim could be Tim and allow him to be aggressive. And while Tim has been far more patient than he’s ever been with us, I’d leave him where’s at for now. For now, I'm fine with it, but if he's still doing what he's doing now in a week or 2, in my opinion it would be good to reward him and hit him higher in the lineup. I sure as hell like their chances of scoring Abreu from 3rd a lot better with Timmy right now than I do with Delmonico or even Castillo.
