  1. Another fun game to watch. This team is very streaky. Love seeing Jose lead the way. He's got some hidden speed.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2017 -> 10:47 AM) I said it in a post in a different thread last week, but his defense has also stepped way back up. Anderson had 22 errors over 91 games in April through July. In the 35 games since he has a total of 4 errors. Very very encouraging to see. Good thing he can get a fresh start next year
  3. Even if it was just for one game, very refreshing to see. Moncada hit a homerun right handed!! And it wasn't a cheapy either. Anderson still showed signs of not being able to lay off sliders away but he did make real solid contact tonight for base hits. Yolmer is a keeper, he needs to be the starting 3B next year. Not only does he hit but he can do it from both sides and play tremendous defense. He has earned it. Shields has actually pitched decent in the last month or so. Never thought I would see that. Most of all, I loved seeing Jose smile with the team. The first couple years you just didn't see him smile, but this year, even though this has been their worst year record wise, he's been joyful. He's turning into a leader, which is what this club needs. I highly doubt he is anywhere else when this team starts to win in the 2020s.
  4. Like, the one game I dont watch this week, and they do this. Really, lol.
  5. Thoroughly enjoying a Brewers slaughter of the Cubs right now. And Brew Crew won yesterday as well. With a win today they will only be 3 games back of the Cubs. How hilarious would it be if the Cubs lost their division lead and didn't make the playoffs
  6. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Sep 8, 2017 -> 09:07 PM) Anderson and Moncada are huge disappointments. Ship them off while their value is still high. Sarcasm?
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2017 -> 08:16 PM) @scottmerkin Carlos Rodon has been placed on 10 day DL with left shoulder inflammation and will not pitch again in 2017 @scottmerkin The plan is for him to be further evaluated next week. Just went from being interested in watching a 3 Sox games every 5 days to 2...
  8. Classic Anderson. Watches the 90 mph fastball go right by in his wheelhouse for strike 2 and swings at the curve in the dirt for strike 3. Has to be mental with him.
  9. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 08:33 PM) Yolmer is a good ballplayer. Yeah, I think he should be the starting 3B next year over Davidson...and as I say this Jose Abreu with a bomb!!!!
  10. Well whaddya know. A leadoff Yolmer Homer off Kluber.
  11. I think the only thing that could single handedly dismantle and destroy this rebuild is the injury bug, especially with the pitchers.
  12. Rodon scratched from his start. Can't be good.
  13. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 12:00 AM) http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/09/06/mic...-for-next-step/ Nice write up Levine lol...geezus. Yeah...pretty sure Kopech will be the ace of the staff...not the closer. Especially with what he has shown this season. Thsi is actually the first time I've seen anyone mention him as a potential closer...why? Because he throws so hard? Obviously no issues yet.
  14. Anyone know why Moncada is not in the lineup? He still hurt?
  15. I thought this was an interesting piece. http://bit.ly/2eGEVsz “I can have way easier conversations with him now. You used to probably have to bring someone in and ask them to translate. But now it seems like he understands the majority of things that are being said to him. He understands it more fully to where he knows how to respond to it. He’s come a long way with the language and it definitely helps to know a few Spanish words to mix in there, speak a little Spanglish. But he definitely seems like he’s evolving into that leader.”
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 11:56 PM) Does Holland really belong on an MLB diamond? My gosh. Is he having one of the worst seasons by a starter in baseball history (for a guy the team has not replaced). Hyperbole? I doubt it. I'm talking about guys allowed to get hammered game after game and not replaced during the course of a season. He makes a mockery of the game of baseball. Geez. Cut the guy already. I think Shields had a stretch there last year where he was worse.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 10:09 PM) Atrocious hands. Just not an infielder IMO Question is where do you put him? He has the speed to play left or center, but certainly not the range or of the ball-off-the-bat reading ability. Outfield is taken for the future anyway. Obviously 2B is covered...if he can't play short he definitely can't do 3rd. Not sure he is the SS on this 2020 team unless he makes some absolutely dramatic changes, which is possible. See Avi. Gonna take a lot of determination, hard off-season work, and willingness to freaking adjust. Which he has not done at all this season.
  18. I could've handled that ground ball better than Tim right there, and thrown Mauer out in the process. Just wow.
  19. http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-white-so...ne-mark-buehrle "Deemed Double A's top hurler" Can't wait to see this guy in the rotation.
  20. Does it amaze anyone else that Minnesota was just absolutely awful last year (remember that long winless streak they had to start the season), and this year they have a wild card spot if playoffs were to start tomorrow, end of August. Just nuts how that works. Granted there still is a month left, but the Twins are almost always the small market underdog team in the league to make a push for the playoffs (although they never get very far)
  21. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 29, 2017 -> 05:12 PM) The Twinkies are sure to lose their cream filling when they see that lineup card. 1-6, Not bad. 7-9, pretty horrendous.
  22. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Aug 29, 2017 -> 02:23 PM) This is exactly what they mean. Of course they're going to bring them up once they AT LEAST secure the extra year. I think what he (Hostler) meant was there's nothing Kopech can learn at AAA that he wouldn't be able to do at the ML level and get acclimated at the same time. I agree. Which then begs the question, if that does indeed happen, who are they signing for that 5th spot and for 2 weeks? They giving it to whoever impresses in the spring and then shoving them in the pen when Kopech comes up? Not gonna lie I'd love to see MiGo back for another year, but I suspect he will go to a contender.
