  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 09:55 PM) Gonna be hard to win 18 with a bullpen this bad when your starters don't log innings Hopefully, this is the worst of it. I know next year is supposed to not be very good, but not necessarily a tank year. I think it would be good to get the young guys acclimated to a winning culture. I would aim high next year for a .500 record (I might get murdered for saying that), maybe the young'ns suprise.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 09:54 PM) Besides Anibal Sanchez I don't really follow the Tigers, so correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that dude thrown in the pen because of how awful he became as a starter? Was he brought back to the rotation? I would say he would rival Carrasco of Cleveland.
  3. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 09:51 PM) what kopech is doing at his age in AA is extraordinary. I think he will be an offseason top 10 in all MLB prospect. Yes I agree. While he probably won't put up Chris Sale numbers, I think he definitely is showing signs of being the future Sox Ace and potentionally the best future number 1 starter in the AL Central.
  4. Gotta love those starts by our minor league studs though. Kopech 6 IP 12 K's!!! 2 Hits and 1 ER Lopez 5 IP 10 K's!!! 4 Hits and 2 ER Dunning 7 IP 6 K's 6 Hits 1 BB and 0 ER!!! All of their ERA's are in the mid-3s. Very exciting for the future rotation with the way these guys are pitching, especially considering the current monstrosity that is the 2017 rotation...
  5. All of these fantastic pitching performances really gives you hope for the future rotation. If they can continue this success in the majors, a rotation of Kopech, Lopez, Dunning, a healthy and successful Rodon, should be very fun to watch.
  6. If Renteria has Moncada playing normal double play positioning, both those ground balls would have been double plays.
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 05:14 PM) Doesn't have to with nobody on Didn't know that
  8. Even a grounder to the right will do the trick.
  9. Lackey losing some of his control...if They let him stay in, he'll start spinning that slider, and our hitters better bang it
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 04:21 PM) No. Robin did it too and got ripped for it. Remember when he benched Rios for jogging to first? It was called a bush league move on this very site. 2012?
  11. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 04:16 PM) TA benched.nice job RR. Wow he really did it. This is one of many things that sets him apart from Ventura. Very glad he did that to Anderson. He needd to learn how to be a situational hitter, and just plate awareness and to be mindful of who is pitching.
  12. Should've done it with 2 outs...if the cubs score on this I swear.
  13. Stupid...i mean after seeing him all game how can you not know he's gonna throw a slider low and away. Like seriously? And then you just roll over It?
  14. I never did like Lackey. Hawk wants him drilled...while I'm usually not for retaliation in the sense of hitting the other team with the baseball, this situation might call for it. Although I would rather Davidson just tie it with a bomb.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 03:01 PM) I wouldn't say that. I mean you have to expect that at least some of these guys will flat out bust, and others will take a more Avi Garcia route instead of a Kris Bryant route. 2020 is still really quick when you have a majority of these guys in the lower levels of the minors. I think Eloy and Burger will take more Bryant routes, while guys like Tim Anderson and (I believe) Moncada will take more Avi routes
  16. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 02:55 PM) looked like lackey was out there jawing at rodon. What a tool Yeah at first I thought he was just angry at himself but then I saw Rodon say a nasty word, so idk if they were barking at each other or not. Lackey has anger issues anyway.
  17. Make Rodon the new DH haha. Was he and Lackey barking at eachother after that bullet double?
  18. This actually has been a good game! Great outing from MiGo, some good offense, regardless of the outcome, this has been a very enjoyable game for the rebuilding Sox fan.
  19. Now with leadoff guy on first, let's get him in. Time for some of these hard hit balls to start finding some holes.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 03:43 PM) That's the kind of play I don't mind/expect to see a rookie make a mistake or two on. True. As long as it doesn't persist, I'm cool with it.
  21. Moncada's nerves showing a bit. At least he is recovering nicely.
