  1. Any idea when Moncada will be called up? I'm going to a couple games in July... would be awesome to see him play then.
  2. Here comes a plethora of high fastballs
  3. Bottom of the order gotta get it done...please don't bunt. I wouldn't be against it if these guys could execute, but they just can't bunt. Please don't.
  4. Ya know, I am thoroughly enjoying a shutout of one of the best hitting teams in baseball after they scored 13 runs the night before.
  5. QUOTE (Scoots @ May 31, 2017 -> 09:55 PM) Melky Melt and Abreu swinging at the high fastballs The melt part was on accident...but the Sox should totally create a "Melky Melt" sandwich at the park.

  7. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 31, 2017 -> 09:40 PM) Yolmer is playing with a lot of swag. Even on the routine plays he's really firing the ball over to Jose with some flair. If Frazier doesn't stay, I wouldn't mind seeing Sanchez play 3rd when Moncada comes up. Or have Moncada learn more than one position and have him play 3rd. I actually love the way Sanchez plays. What are the chances Moncada comes up before July?
  8. Tim is definitely more of a middle of the order hitter than a leadoff guy...If it were up to me, my lineup would consist of Avi hitting cleanup with Anderson behind him, and then Frazier (until Frazier starts heating it up, of course).
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2017 -> 10:03 PM) Who was better, Covey or Adrian Nieto? Will go with Nieto, lol...ALL THE CUBANS!!! Still want an all Cuban batter.
  10. I cannot wait for Covey to be gone. DFA him and bring up someone from AAA. He's not only an automatic loss, but an automatic embarrassment to the team.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 22, 2017 -> 09:43 PM) Greinke starting out at his typical 91-92 MPH early game velocity. Sanchez K's. And Melky as well now. Gets Abreu to commit to the slider, that was fast, only 9 pitches. Not an ideal start against Greinke. Can't let him settle down and get comfortable. To be fair, he did paint the corners. He was pretty spot on in that inning, the complete opposite of Seattle's pitchers
  12. I know its a pretty done deal, but has the team officially announced the signing yet?
  13. Well, this road trip could be salvaged if they can win 2 out of 3 here Just 2 more of these late starts. So ready for this west coast trip to be finished. It sucks being in the eastern time zone when your team as a west coast road trip. These 10:00 starts for over a week straight just plain suck.
  14. This ump blind or what. Screwed over Willy there, and totally missed a strike 3 call on Frazier. Give the rook a break
  15. Okay Pelfs, give em 6 innings. I dont care if you give up 6 runs or if it takes you 120 pitches to get there, just pitch 6 innings.
  16. QUOTE (Nokona @ May 20, 2017 -> 07:53 PM) The Rebuild is now The Revolucion! LOL! Viva la Cuba!!!
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 20, 2017 -> 07:28 PM) El Duque for sure. Jose Canseco from 2001. Rodon's family is from Cuba. I was gonna say El Duque but I couldn't remember if he was from The DR or from Cuba
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 20, 2017 -> 07:18 PM) It better be Robert, Moncada and Abreu...protect Anderson, Rodon and Q from jinxes. Why not do the whole Cuban Club??? Moncada, Abreu, Robert, Alexei, Viciedo, Minoso, Contreras, anyone I miss?
  19. Potential 2020 Lineup: CF Robert SS Anderson 1B Abreu RF Avi 2B Moncada DH/3B Davidson 3B/DH (Free Agent?) C Collins LF Tilson That's an exciting lineup, with the assumption that Tilson is healthy and can actually hit, actually, a lot of this lineup has assumptions lol. One possible alteration, if we have a lot of faith in Yolmer and if he stays hot at the plate, maybe move Moncada to 3B and have Yolmer play 2B, with Davidson DHing. OR DH Abreu and put Davidson at 1B, or find a free agent 1B and DH Abreu. I think we were all spoiled with Konerko's defense over there at first.
  20. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ May 20, 2017 -> 03:54 PM) His potential is huge, but I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing him in the majors or thinking the Sox got the Cuban version Mike Trout. He's going to be raw, but the talent is there for him to be a impact core player for when the Sox decide to go on a playoff run. Good to know...yeah, it will be interesting to see how he will handle our pitchers. What do you think of the possibility of a September call-up?
  21. So, 19 year old who hit .400 in Cuba's last Series Nationale. Obviously he will be in the minors at some point this season...does anyone have any information or any educated guesses as to which league he will start in, and even though he is only 19, how far away is he from the majors? Is this even close to a Mike Trout situation where Trout hit the bigs when he was 19 years old? Or too early to tell? I know I remember some international scout saying Robert was the "best player on the planet"...just wondering how much of this hype is actually true.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2017 -> 09:33 PM) We passed the Indians for 27th in the last couple of days... Weird...you'd think the reigning AL champs would draw a nice crowd. I think the Sox drew an average of 36,000 something in 2006.
