QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 04:48 PM) if he keeps throwing 92 mph fastballs down the middle and up he's going to get tattooed. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt...he's thrown some nicely located breaking-balls so far. -

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 04:40 PM) Would have been interesting to see a healthy Salazar, Carrasco, and Brantley in that series. Still amazes me Cleveland did what they did with the injuries they sustained last year. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 04:36 PM) Just realized that when Kipnis and Chisenhall return, the Indians are better at all 9 offensive spots There's a reason why they almost won it all last year -

Asche at least put some good wood on the ball. -

Not gonna lie, it's very nice to hear Hawk's voice. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 04:59 PM) Sanchez just isn't a major league hitter. Insane he's gotten so many chances here It's going to be very nice to see when we have Moncada up during those crucial run-scoring opportunities instead of Carlos sanchez, who IMO will be the one sent down when Moncada is up. (Not familiar with Sanchez's option situation, however).

If the outcome of this game stays as the score is now, this has been a purely defensive game. Minnesota won because of their stellar defense, Sox lost because of their 3 errors and other non-error bobbles. Baseball is won by pitching and defense (and I like to throw situational hitting in there as well).

Spoke too soon.

Are we sure that is Abreu playing first? He's had a couple nice scoops tonight.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 09:17 PM) You need to give Davidson an opportunity to build some confidence that he belongs in the majors (offensively) before you even consider an in-season position change so dramatic. Just a thought...i guess more realistically I would rather see May in C.F. with Luery Garcia in right, with Avi at DH. I would rather have the better defense out there than the slim potential upside offensively with the left handed bat in Asche up there. Idk.
-
I seem to remember Frazier saying in the off-season he wants to hit less pop ups and hit the ball more the other way...i have seen him popup at least 3 times (twice in this game) and I have yet to see him attempt to hit it the other way.
-
Who would YOU rather have as DH? Avi or Abreu? I say DH Avi and try Davidson out in RF...i know he doesn't have the build of an outfielder but it can't be worse than Garcia.

There's more people at this game than there were at the Sox game this afternoon lol

Norfolk vs CHA Knights (Lopez=SP/Moncada in lineup)
Ducksnort replied to Ducksnort's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Lopez gives up a long double and a 2 run bomb in the first. -
Game Thread, in case anyone is watching, feel free to post here. Lopez is starting and Moncada is as well.

Looking like the game might be playable tomorrow...may be uncomfortable for everyone involved, but it definitely looks like it could be playable. Weather.com saying precipitation at 40% for the morning and lightening throughout the day. Cold and windy, but playable. Weekend looks like beautiful weather for baseball. Hope to see a nice crowd there on Friday night vs the Twinkies.

Opening Day 4/4/2017 - White Sox vs Tigers

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 04:27 PM) No, he looked at a first pitch curve that most wouldn't swing at first pitch then looked at a ball that was called a strike and swung at a ball on an 0-2 count. Big difference between 1-1 and 0-2 I mean, basically what I meant. Not sure what we are disagreeing with here, other than the fact I think a hanging curve should be smashed on any count, regardless if it is the first pitch or not. -

I think the toughest thing for me will be the amount of time the Sox get runners in scoring position but dont get them in. Currently, the Sox have more hits in the game than the tigers do, yet the tigers are leading by 4 runs. Situations like that happened oh too often last year, and the year before. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 03:56 PM) That looked like an ugly at bat for TA. Benetti called that first pitch curveball nasty...it was literally a hanger and should have been hit 400 feet. Anderson just watched 2 strikes and swung at a ball...hes gotta get disciplined, especially as a number 2 hitter. Only first game though. -

Listening to 890, they say pre-game ceremonies will take place, no timeframe yet on first pitch. -

QUOTE (daggins @ Mar 21, 2017 -> 06:59 PM) Q Rodon MiGo Shields Holland I think I heard some reporters saying they wanted Rodon to be the 5th day starter. If that's the case and I heard right, then i think Rodon would go to the bottom and it will be Q, MiGo, Shields, Holland, Rodon. Really, does it matter the order they put the rotation in after Q? lol. -
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 02:34 PM) Hope it's nothing to do with his new child. That was my first thought...and It's a scary one. As much as I love the guy as a player I would rather this be injury related than something threatening his kid.
